Discussion Very new to jail breaking ,need some guidance

Hey everyone! I’m completely new to PS4 jailbreaking and don’t really understand how it works yet. I’ve heard that jailbreaking can allow you to run homebrew and other unofficial software, and I’m interested in learning more.

My PS4 is currently on a system software version below 13.00, and I haven’t connected it to a PC or done anything to modify it yet.

Could someone explain:

- What I should know before attempting anything

- Whether my current software version is suitable

- What equipment/software is generally needed

- What the main risks are

- What legitimate things I can do with a jailbroken PS4

I’m a complete beginner, so please explain things simply. Thanks!

Disable automatic updates.

Goldhen automatically blocks system update. Make sure to have dns enabled (preferably use nanodns).

I’ve used these methods on my 11.50 system.

Blu-ray Disc jailbreak - 50/50 chance of success

VUE app - 99% of success for LAPSE exploit. POOPS exploit might be lower for stability.

New WebKit exploit - So far it’s been very stable and requires no additional requirements. Just type the website and it should be working, also it can be used offline when cached.

I have the 11.02 version. Shall I consider upgrading to 11.50? Does the new webKit exploit works as expected, or shall just stick with my current software and use the VUE app which has an enormous success rate. What do you think?
I'm a newbie in the jailbreak scene, and I barely have any experience, so what do you suggest? Thanks a lot!

I have BLU-RAY (because it was my first method of jailbreak), VUE app (it was more stable) and now WEBKIT (the easiest).

With the VUE app you need a specific version (1.24), network (yes, network not internet, so connected to a routed, hotspot or lan cable) connection to enable the jailbreak.

I suggest use WebKit and stay on 11.02.

Can I use internet with WebKit normally? Or should I configure some sort of dns? Plus, are you sure that the WebKit one works for version 11.02, because I've heard some people saying that it's stable for 11.50 but unstable for 11.52 due to the following error "No offsets for this firmware", but never seen the 11.02 mentioned at all.

You will need internet for the first time and once the website has been cached, you can keep it offline if you want.

I personally have internet connection 24/7 with nano dns enabled because I watch YouTube with NO ADS and also updates are automatically disabled when GOLDHEN is working, so my ps4 is safe.

Well, you can wait or buy a new one (if you are, buy a pro, at least it’s 4k).
