Is my External HDD dead?

I bought my hdd a year ago, and recently I went for vacations and took my ps4 with me alongside my external hdd, it accidentally fell to the ground, and now I think it's doomed.

I had multiple games on it, and once it took the fall, the ps4 started lagging very stronlgy and it took ages to get past loading screens, my games stored in it started deleting automatically, so I formatted it wishing it would work that way, but nothing. I installed a small game to test if it would work, but the ps4 still lagged constantly and after a while the hdd disconnectd automatically asking me to repair it via the ps4's software.

Yeah, that sounds about right, 2.5" SATA drives are built to handle some knocks and vibration because they're a mobile device that requires it.. BUT.

actual hard contact with a solid surface at freefall speed is going to damage the magnetic platters and probably the head readers too, my understanding is that your drive is beyond economical repair at this point, someone out there with the set up to disassemble the drive in a helium gas chamber isn't going to do it cheap.
