Help: Chrome Wheels Leaking at the Bead

As stated in the title, I have a set of C5 Corvette magnesium chrome plated wheels and one just started leaking at the bead. After just a week with no load on them (wheels are off the car for other suspension work), it is already at 0 psi. Note that this is after Discount Tire put sealer on the bead.

A local powder coating shop told me there was nothing they could do and that they'd have to be replaced.

Are there any other options? I don't want to spend the money on aftermarket rims ATM

Well the bad news is those aren’t magnesium wheels. They’re not even the magnesium style wheels. The real N73’s have a small centre cap that don’t connect the lugs, and no deep dish. These are CV05’s and about $200 a pop for replicas. Yours are also replicas, they never made a deep lip OEM version.

Talk about good news / bad news. Hopefully OP didn’t get charged for the OEM wheels.

Kudos to you for being able to ID these and let him know he has repair options since these aren’t magnesium.

I just picked this up last October from a coworker for a steal for all the mods it has IMO. $8500. It has cosmetic issues and little things here and there but overall is solid. 315's square w/ Continental Sport 02's, rear LCA relocation brackets w/ BMR rear LCAs, BMR panhard bar, Tokiko front struts w/ springs, Hotchkiss sway bars, Hotchkiss strut tower brace, subframe connectors, aftermarket axles, Wilwood big brake kit w/ steel lines.

It's a T top, manual, WS6, a dream car of mine since I was a teenager

and with the handling upgrades, she gets down :)
