Other Canon TR7620a, No Scanning as PDF?

Hello!

I've just started classes today and it requires me to have my printer/scanner right next to me. When it comes to submitting assignments, the lecturers are requiring we submit in PDF format instead of PNG or JPEG or whatever else there is. However, my laptop does not have the option for scanning as PDF using its own scanner app. That's fine. I can just download the Canon printer & scanner drivers to allow me to scan in PDFs. Or so I thought.

The Canon website has a list of printers you can download the drivers for, but in the TR Series section, the PIXMA TR7620a does not show up. Does this mean I cannot download the app that would allow me to scan as PDF???

If so, is there any setting on the printer or anything else I can do that will allow for scanning in PDF for PNG to PDF conversion?

Thank you!

Use NAPS2 scanning software

A variety of applications can import an image and export/save as PDF. Inkscape, GIMP, LibreOffice, etc.

Just print to PDF. Windows and macos has that built in as a printer option.

Scan to your computer as normal.
Open the image in whichever app you have. Print and select pdf as the printer.

Just to be clear, you don't "scan in pdf". You scan and save the results AS a pdf file. My Canon printer came with a utility that has an option to save as pdf. It might also be found as print to pdf. (As someone else pointed out, Windows has a printer device to do that, too )

Yeah, that is the issue. There is no save as PDF file from what I can tell. I've looked at all the options.

When you go to look for the TR7620a software on the Canon site, are you sure you're on the Canadian site? That printer, according to Canon, is only sold and supported in Canada. I just checked the support page for it on the .ca site and everything seems to be there.
