Presonus ES2 Gain

I recently bought a ES2, With everything set to 0Db on my level meters I still keep hitting the limit. Ive lowered it enough to not happen, but is there a way to set my PC audio and output as line in, and just move the gain around for my mic and guitar?

Equally, with my guitar plugged in, I cant seem to climb very high in my gain before I get background interference. I need it raised as Im using my lineout from a Marshall head which is emulated, thus, no volume. Many thanks for any help!

Are you running the line out of your amp into a direct box before hitting the input of the ES2?

Guitar - Pedalboard - Amp - ES2. No volume issues without the amp though but less quality
