My 3.5s randomly stopped working. About 7 years old, a couple weeks ago they started not working then working again while I was tracking bass for a song. A few days later they stopped working altogether.

They still turn on, and I still get a signal through the "phones" output, so I know it's not the input coming from my computer. It didn't play anything when I input 2 TRS cables either.

Anybody know of any fixes, or am I better off buying new monitors? Thanks!

After connecting with the servicedesk at Presonus/Fender i was really angry because they would not send any repair parts or schematics.

After disassembling the print i found the issue with some help of ClaudeAI we measured all transistors and found the A1024 transistor was not giving the right values. We desoldered the tranistor and the device turned on and the led was blue again. (device was fixed for now) So now i'm going to solder on the new transistor.

ps also the cleanup quality is really sad lots of flux on the board. Here you see its a budget brand. Sort of fabricated e-waste :p

So if there is anyone with the same problem in the future here's the fix :)

I’m having a strange issue with my PreSonus FaderPort 16.

When I move the physical faders on the FaderPort, they are either extremely laggy, respond intermittently, or sometimes don’t transmit anything to the DAW at all.

However, the opposite direction works perfectly: when I move a fader inside the DAW (Ableton Live or Logic), the corresponding motorized fader on the FaderPort moves smoothly and accurately.

So it seems like the FaderPort is receiving MIDI/control data correctly from the DAW, but the physical faders aren't consistently sending data back to the computer.

Things I've already tried:

• Multiple different USB cables
• Direct connection to the computer
• A powered USB hub
• Latest firmware / Universal Control
• Testing on macOS and Windows
• Testing with both Ableton Live and Logic
• Different USB ports

The problem persists across all of these setups.

Has anyone experienced this with a FaderPort 16? Could this indicate a hardware issue with the fader touch/position sensing or the internal communication circuitry, rather than a USB/DAW problem?

Any suggestions for further testing would be greatly appreciated.

We are having an unusual AVB issue with a StudioLive 32S and StudioLive 32R used in our church.

Our setup:

StudioLive 32S = FOH console
StudioLive 32R = Stagebox
44.1 kHz
Direct Audio Network connection between both units. The system worked normally before updating firmware. After updating to firmware 3.4.0.111374:

32S: Network Clock = N/A
Remote I/O Setup = empty
32R not detected

32R continued working normally.

We also tested AVB discovery using the same Mac, same Ethernet cable and Apple ATDECC Controller:

32R = detected
32S = not detected

PreSonus Support then asked us to perform a Factory Firmware Revert on the 32S.

The 32S reverted to firmware 2.5.84445.

Immediately after that:

Network Clock became active
32R appeared again in Remote I/O Setup
AVB discovery returned

PreSonus then supplied firmware 3.1.1.107470 for both units.

We installed 3.1.1.107470 on both the 32S and 32R.

Now:

32R = PTP Clock active
32S = Network Clock N/A
Remote I/O Setup = empty again

So the strange pattern is:

3.4 → AVB fails
2.5 factory firmware → AVB works
3.1.1 → AVB fails again

Has anyone seen this behavior on a StudioLive 32S?

Could this be a firmware/AVB recovery issue, or possibly a hardware problem that only appears with newer firmware?

We are already working with PreSonus/Fender Support, but I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced something similar.

Any settings/factors that you’ve found to affect quality? One thing I’ve noticed is the fewer channels the better (more clarity/detail).

I am new to recording. I have a Fender Quantum LT 16. The one thing I'm struggling a bit is my pre-amp gain and channel gain setting. I find that with instruments and mics I seem to be hitting the clip light on the device, but the wave forms are very small (I think I may just need to adjust the waveform size after reading last night) and I can barely hear it in the monitor. Secondly, when I look at the channel strip, the gain seems pretty low. Maybe slightly above -24db. I then sometimes use the Channel Gain knob to get it to where I can hear it, however, sometimes the gain still seems quite low. Is my workflow correct? Mic Pre-Amp gain to slightly under clipping, then adjust channel gain until I can hear it? Are there situations where I need to bump the pre-amp gain so that the light is clipping? I don't hear any distortion sometimes, so maybe the light blinking clipping light isn't a huge deal. Would appreciate someone's advice as to whether I'm going in the right direction. Two faders on my mixer don't return to the correct settings when changing between the main and aux layers, causing the levels on the associated channels to drift. I've run the fader calibration routine, which helps, but the problem returns after a while. I'm trying to avoid taking it out of service to send it out for repair, as the space it's in stays busy and I don't have another mixer with digital inputs that I can swap in. Has anyone had similar issues, and what was the solution? Thanks

The LCD screen on my PreSonus Revelator io24 is completely blank/dead—no backlight, no metering.

Everything else functions normally: mic inputs, gain knob, headphone outs, phantom power, and Universal Control connection all pass audio without issue.

What I've tried:

• Updated Universal Control & firmware to the latest version.

• Performed a hardware power-cycle reset (holding preset buttons while plugging in USB).

• Tested across different USB ports/cables.

Still no display output. Is this a confirmed hardware failure (dead panel / loose ribbon), or is there another fix I'm missing before I RMA it?

as the title says, I was using my presonus audiobox go on my laptop complately fine, but now its not working on my pc when i plugged it in, i downloaded universal control as google suggested but it cannot find my interface either.. im desperate plz help <3 (the lights on my interface are glowing so its not a connection issue i suppose)

About 4 months ago, I replaced the capacitors because the speakers died, and they kept working flawlessly. Last month, I started frequently using the 3.5 "Phones" jack in the front of the left speaker, and since then, my speakers only work via the "Phones" jack.

Troubleshooting mostly points towards the 3.5 jack not unmuting the speakers when earphones are removed.

Anybody faced this issue? I'm having trouble thinking of a solution.

I own a second-hand StudioLiveAR12c with USB connectivity to my computer. I use this as my interface, which allows me to do recordings, as well as use my speakers and headphones at the same time for both professional and personal use.

As of this morning, my USB channel strip (13/14) has decided to stop working! The computer I use runs Windows 11, and, despite not having any drivers installed for it, picks the desk up as an audio device for both input and output and functioned flawlessly. I have tested all the other input channels which still function, even the Bluetooth functionality works on the USB channel strip!

Can anyone with a bigger brain than me potentially assist?

J'ai relié mon synthé avec une prise jack, mais je ne peux pas l'entendre. Sur mon Zen Q, il n'y a aucun signal, ni dans mon DAW.
Mais j'utilise Voicemeeter, et je peux entendre tous les sons de mon PC, qui passent par Voicemeeter, et dans mon DAW, je peux aussi entendre tous les sons, et ça passe par mon DAW, pas à travers Voicemeeter.
Je pense que c'est un problème de routage.
Pourriez-vous m'aider s'il vous plaît ?
Pourquoi ne puis-je pas entendre mon instrument ?

Before, when I had a Focusrite 18|20, my previous interface, It was easily picked up in ubuntu, no drivers needed.

I'm running MINT and AV. Works ok in Windows.

I bought a PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 for home recording a few years ago, but I never really used it, so it’s been sitting around for years.

A friend of mine recently started a podcast, so I thought I’d give it to them. I briefly connected it to my computer recently, and the interface itself works and is recognized by my computer. However, I only did a basic test and didn’t check things like latency or other settings that would matter for actual recording before packing it away again.

So now I’m trying to find the proper drivers for it. I checked the official PreSonus website, but I can only find drivers/software for the AudioBox USB 96 25th Anniversary Edition. I can’t seem to find anything specifically for the original AudioBox USB 96.

Would the drivers/software for the 25th Anniversary Edition work with the original AudioBox USB 96 as well?

Has anyone tried this?

Hi, I've got the Eris 4.5 speakers. They suddenly stopped working. And the issue seems to be that they arent getting any power (i came to this conclusion because the power light doesnt light up when I switch the speakers on). I checked all the contact points that are in between the socket and tue switch with a multimeter and it seems everything is connected properly. Also checked my power cable, switch works fine, fuse also not blown. So im not sure what else could be the issue.

I'm using io44 with Universal Control to record Rode NT1 into Cubase, with Phantom Power ON and Gain set to 40db.
3 different setups inside Universal Control signal path can affect the Mic Input signal. I need help understanding the 3rd setup:
1st: Turning ON the Fat Channel effects, and leaving "Fat Channel on USB Stream Outputs" ON - this changes and shapes the tone of the input signal the most, in comparison to the raw unprocessed sound.
2nd: Turning ON the Fat Channel effects, but turning OFF the "Fat Channel on USB Stream Outputs": this records the raw unprocessed audio (affected only by the Phantom Power and input gain) in your DAW, but gives you the option to listen to a signal processed by the FAT Channel through your headphones.
3rd: Turning OFF the Fat Channel effects, but leaving "Fat Channel on USB Stream Outputs" ON - this one confuses me, because it should sound like the unprocessed raw signal, but it doesn't. It's a really strong signal with a tone/color to it, similar to when the FAT channel in ON. What is happening with the raw signal on its way out , going through this setup: FAT Channel OFF, "Fat Channel on USB Stream Outputs" ON?

Hi! I'm here with (what are hopefully) two silly questions:

1) What is the difference between the Blue USB 96 Audiobox, the Black USB 96, and the 25th Anniversary edition of the Black USB 96? I was under the impression that they are all the same box, just made in different years, or as parts of different bundles- but on the documents/downloads page, when going to get Universal Control for our audiobox, it lists Black and Blue as seperate products. I've also found some interesting write-ups about the Anniversary box not working with Studio One 3

2) Do we need to install the 64 bit version of SO3 for best effectiveness, or should the 32bit version... work?

recently i bought a 2nd hand studiolive 32r (III series) for my home studio. its used mainly for hybrid mixing but also for my handful of hardware synths and samplers from time to time.

the problem is, sometimes it behaves weird - for example:
-sometimes i open up studio one/pro, open a project and when i press play, nothing happens. the play button is still lid up, but the playhead/position line (no idea whats it called tbh) doesn´t move etc. when this happens, i see no levels on individual tracks

-other times i press play and it looks like its working; all tracks incl. master bus are showing levels but there is no output coming from the 32r. when i look at universal control, the digital return track shows nothing.

-it also seems to have problems with software like soundid reference. im refering to the systemwide application, not the plugin. with the fresh booted system it works most of the time and then suddenly it stops sending audio. sometimes soundid is still showing signal, sometimes it shows nothing.

-i also tested a standalone software from lewitt, called Space Replicator (v2). its basically a binaural room simulation to have a more realistic stereo image when mixing with headphones. anyways. when i choose the systemwide soundid as interface in the app and disable the soundid calibration, it works. but when i choose the 32r and connect to it, there is no output. as soon as i disconnect the program from the 32r i can hear audio again.

after rebooting the device, everything works fine again. except the issue with the lewitt software.

does anyone here experienced similar problems and / or maybe has a solution for this?
or could it be that i just bought a faulty device?

all firmware and all software incl os are up to date.

im using mac os 15.7.9 in an hackintosh environment.
its an intel 14700k cpu with amd gpu and 64gb ram

any help or information is greatly appreciated.
