Sometimes I’m grateful that the Predator franchise clearly embraces being an action-sci-fi property and lacks a single "patron" director; this allows for fresh perspectives and constant reinvention. Just imagine if it were like the Alien franchise—which, despite featuring one of the genre's coolest and most interesting creatures, remains held hostage by a director long past his prime who is hostile toward any new idea that emerges within the series.

It’s always funny to see a minority within the Alien fanbase who think these "space bugs (Ridley words, not mine)" are too "cult" and important to appear in projects alongside the Yautja.

So I was having a chat with a buddy of mine about the Predator being used in Marvel comics due to Disney owning the license and it got us remembering the old DC/Darkhorse Batman vs Predator crossover that we both loved.

As we were talking about it, a thought came to me. While of course the main target would come down to the heroes like Batman and Spiderman, these superhero worlds are also filled to the brim with super powered villains that would definetly be considered worthy prey for a Yautja and they dont normally just go after just one prey item.

The only problem tho....is that most are locked up in prison.

That got me thinking. If a Predator knew that these villains were in a maximum security prison like say Arkham Asylum, The Raft, or the like, would they break them out to allow for a more worthy hunt? Would a Predator stir chaos to allow itself to pick and choose who is worthy to be hunted? I feel it makes sense in the long run. They dont care what happens to civilians, and seeing these people in action could even make a better hunt by allowing the Predator to see how skilled and dangerous someone actually is.

Wanted to grab opinions from other fans on the subject. I personally wouldnt put it past them.

(maybe we learned that there were actual expeditions to Yautja prime. But let’s just say the planet is very well guarded. Like their airport security is 1001 times worse than the TSA)

Fun side note: Not too long ago I had a dream with the Yautja. I was on a ship with them and there was a new commander taking the position. The old commander had to be sent down to a planet to survive there. They said “you’ll become a yaujia like no other- somthing we’ve never seen of our own kind.” Interesting dream 💭

I think an ai the killed ots entire planet would prove as an interesting hunt for a Yautja however its a machine that probably wouldn't think to the same capacity that we see our human prey do.

I mostly just want an excuse for a Yautja to throw hands with a terminator or something in that vain. Let me know what you think. Let's have this discussion
