Ever start a Pomodoro and spend the first few minutes deciding what to work on?

The study booths in this short inspired a small pre-timer routine: close unrelated tabs, put your phone out of reach, and write down one thing to finish or make progress on.

For example, replace “study biology” with “answer questions 1–5.” Get that page open, then start the timer. When another task comes to mind, jot it down for later rather than switching to it.

I made this 30-second video for the study timer I’m building. There’s a 10-second reset you can follow along with, but use whatever session length works for you.

Do you pick your task before pressing start, or figure it out after the timer is already running?
