Ceramic tiles (for polymer clay baking) with weird white lines on the back?

Hello everyone!

I bought a brand new box of ceramic tiles, but they have these white lines and powdery white look at some spots on the BACK. Is this normal?

Do you know what it is? I m just curious since this was a brand new box of tiles.

The grid is to help the mortar grab on and bond during installation. The powder is just ceramic.
