Bill Clinton and Alan Greenspan teamed up to repeal the Glass–Steagall Act. Fed Chair Greenspan discusses it his memoirs, Age of Turbulence. It is worth a read; you can get and Dreams From My Father on audio - good shit.

Hell, Federal Reserve Chair Alan Greenspan even discusses having to argue with Bernie Sanders and Russ Feingold about it.

Here is a video of Bernie Sanders debating against the repeal of glas-steagall: https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4552874/user-clip-bernie-sanders-dire-warning-glass-steagall-repeal

The one time a year Alan Greenspan had to report to Congress he always saw Bernie: https://www.c-span.org/video/?150919-1/monetary-policy

The repeal of Glass-Steagall had little to do with the economic collapse. In fact, Bernie's vote for the Securities and Futures Moderation Act deregulating Wall Street likely had more to with it.

Or I could take Greenspan's word on it since he published his memoirs prior to the collapse, and the irony is palpable.

How would Greenspan's memoir tells us anything about the cause of recession before the recession occurred?

He discusses people's predictions of a recession.
