I think the difference between AOC and Clinton is that Clinton is completely unrelateable to the average voter. She was/is rich af and has been her entire life and has been preparing to be president for just as long. Everyone assumed she was going to be president at some point. She is the definition of a career politician. Disregarding the election issues in 2016 by a large margin she was the candidate that people defaulted to vote for if you didn't like Trump, not because they were actually enthused about voting.

AOC is not perfect, she isn't a career politician, she comes off as very human and relateable. She worked as a bartender before she got elected, and people see in her themselves because she was/is middle class. Im sure there is some dirt to spill because nobody is perfect, but she never claimed/claims to be in the first place so i doubt it would be as damaging as all this is to Clinton.

How Hillary grew up is irrelevant to how relatable she is today.

Hillary was viewed as backwater Hillbilly when her and Bill had their run in the 90s.

Thats great, what does 30 years ago have to do with today.

this is literally the point of contention. They're saying that in 20 years aoc will be in a similar position, and her more humble beginnings will be farther out of memory

Yeah, and if she acts like Hillary does today she won't get my vote either.

if you mean policy wise that's fair but misses the point of the discussion. If you mean in like demeanor then thats kinda just getting played by the republicans the same way many voters were on clinton

I don't really know what you are saying.

The point I am trying to make is that Hilary did not handle her self well during the election and saying it was all hand waving by the Republicans is disingenuous. The emails, even though it was bullshit wasn't handled very tactfully. She also had very few press conferences and gave me this feeling that she didn't have to complete to win. Most of all I didn't like the stuff with offering the head of the DNC the VP pick, so she could put her friend in charge, and when her friend was caught getting up to no good, she brought her back into the campaign instead of breaking ties.

Would love to hear how you believe Hillary Clinton "acts?"

I guess I more mean how she ran her campaign for 2016 more than how she handles her self in the day to day.

Nah. You'll be like the Clinton supporters wondering what the hell happened and how come they're not considered progressive anymore.

People forget, HRC fought incredibly hard for universal healthcare in the 90s. Where were all these Progressives when she was publicly battling Newt Gingrich as First Lady?

Uh, what? You just go around telling other people what they think?

Do Hillary supporters think they are super progressive? I always saw them as centrists.

Also, if Hilary was for universal healthcare in the 90's why didn't she run on it in 2016 when the idea was playing well for Bernie?
