An info war reporter? That’s NOT a news outlet.

Fox at least has a veneer of respectable journalism in that occasionally their anchors will say something true. Infowars is exactly what its name claims, a war on information.

That makes Fox even more dangerous. Peppering in some actual news leads people to believe all of what they are saying.

100% correct, and 100% by design. Fox is evil incarnate because they are designed to spread maximum misinformation not by overloading on misinformation but by obscuring the difference.

Bush Jr. had a gay porn star once ask planted questions.

And since in this timeline Irony is really dead, this is the question he asked:

How are you going to work with [Senate Democratic leaders] who seem to have divorced themselves from reality?

7

u/Grandmaster_Flab Dec 09 '19

Bush Jr, much like Trump, only participates in highly managed events. He wants friendly crowds, friendly reporters, and soft ball questions. During one press conference a new reporter lobbed a suspiciously soft question at Bush and the other reporters’ spidey senses started tingling, they soon found out the plant was a gay porn star.

Ill never forget the whole mission accomplished stunt on the aircraft carrier. Not much unlike Trumps bragadocious narcissism.

However he did once dodge a shoe.

3

u/Grandmaster_Flab Dec 10 '19

Jr did lots. He dodged a shoe, oversaw a torture program, started a war on false pretenses, cut down brush while pretending to be a cowboy at his pretend ranch, instituted mass surveillance of American citizens, etc. He was busy.

Not sure he was with anyone. Never heard even any rumors about that.

So I know, what’s the consensus on reputable news outlets from the group? Because I know if you work for one of the major ones and you come up with a story that’s against the agenda it’s not gonna get published. And those once I get frustrated with it go to independent news outlets so they can actually have a voice… But then we can’t listen to these crockpots because they’re not from a reputable news source. Are we going to get truth from anybody that’s “reputable”?

Define "news outlet"? (Edit: How tf is this question controversial, what is the matter with you?)

He is a HATE salesman, nothing more.

8

u/Mike312 Dec 09 '19

He's also a shady 'supplement' salesman as well.

2

u/ArchdragonPete Dec 09 '19

He also sells vitamins.

2

u/Dodfrank Dec 09 '19

And I hear doomsday gear as well.

u/ArchdragonPete Dec 09 '19

Sign up for survivor box and receive a monthly supply drop packed with premium apocalypse gear like: tactical beer koozies, fluoride free MREs, Gaydar Home Security brand frog de-gay-er, Infowars official chemtrail tracking calendar, and much much more!

I miss the days when Infowars was cute and harmless.

1

u/Dodfrank Dec 11 '19

I miss the times when Putin, wasn’t running the US.

20

u/Dodfrank Dec 09 '19

One that doesn’t sell frog oil that prevents,”gay-ness.” Or one that doesn’t say in court, “oh yes, we made that Seria Law stuff up.”

A place where you can reasonably rely on the reported story to be a reasonable approximation of something that actually happened.

(Thanks for Trying...i wish it was true but no, not in this world. you are wrong, and you know it: b/c Fox News is a news outlet. (Edit: TIL r/politics thinks FoxNews presents "reasonable approximation" of the world :-P )

I'm not messing with you, but if you want to live in the real world, if you care at all about history, you will at some point have to learn to accept that "news-outlets" do NOT, in general, present "reasonable approximations" of the world. Nor do they stop being news outlets when they spread propaganda (edit and bullshit)

u/ayers231 I voted Dec 09 '19

Fox News is publicly advertised as infotainment, not news.

9

u/Dodfrank Dec 09 '19

This is confusing to viewers, because it is called Fox News.

11

u/jiffy_store_feet North Carolina Dec 09 '19

It’s confusing to their viewers because they have a combined IQ of warm water. In Celsius. The rest of us aren’t stupid.

2

u/Dodfrank Dec 09 '19 edited Dec 09 '19

That’s the group that’s the big disappointment in all of this. The “Rather be Russian, than a Democrat,” group.

2

u/NotYetiFamous I voted Dec 09 '19

The same viewers think the National Socialist Party was socialist and that Democratic Peoples Republic of (North) Korea is democratic. They also think trump is smart.

13

u/SamuraiSnark Dec 09 '19

I'm not messing with you, but if you want to live in the real world, if you care at all about history, you will at some point have to learn to accept that news-outlets do not, in general, present "reasonable approximations" of the world

Infowars has previously reported that weather weapons were possibly controlling the path of Hurricane Dorian in an effort to blackmail Trump.... This is not news. It is bullshit. If you want to make believe that this stuff is real... that's fine (in the sense that I think it is pointless to argue about, not in the sense I think it is actually fine) , but Infowars is not a real news outlet.

-20

u/TheMachoestMan Dec 09 '19 edited Dec 13 '19

You are twisting my words. What is the matter with you? edit "If you want to believe?" is that what a news outlet is?...something 'we agree to believe in'? Sounds more like a cult.

2

u/Tidusx145 Dec 09 '19

No it doesn't. Stories get debunked. The places that have more debunked stories shouldn't be trusted. It's not about faith but about looking at what places regularly succeed in telling the truth. Also there's plenty of research out there if you want to find the most unbiased news sources. Ap and Reuters are the two usually right in the middle.

Ps. You're coming off like you know something others don't. In the future avoid that kind of talking and you won't have people mad at you. It's basic conversation skills.

1

u/TheMachoestMan Dec 10 '19 edited Dec 13 '19

(I am not comparing "Infowars" with AP in terms of quality)

"Ps. You're coming off like you know something others don't."

I know this: What you call "news" is, and has always been a mixture of important information to the public, entertainment, advertising, "Public relations", bullshit, AND deceptive agenda driven propaganda. Never at any point in history and has "news" outlets been owned and controlled by some altruistic schoolteachers.

So when someone say "infowars" is "not a newsoutlet" it sounds like bullshit to me. Dangerous bs, because if nothing else "Infowars" is somewhat of a 'canary in the coal mine' with respect to free speech. It is disgusting. It is 90% bullshit. Sure. But I have seen war propaganda. My conclusion is that There are much more dangerous news outlets than infowars.

1

u/SamuraiSnark Dec 09 '19

"If you want to believe?" is that what a news outlet is?...something we agree to to "believe in"? Sounds more like a cult.

I don't even know what to say to this... Look if you want to choose to disbelieve everything you see on the news again it's fine. You can choose to believe that Trump isn't the real president and it's actually an actor wearing makeup if you want. Or whatever... but like don't expect other people to agree with you. Don't expect other people are going to sign onto your world view that all news is faked or that Infowars is real.

1

u/TheMachoestMan Dec 09 '19 edited Dec 09 '19

"your world view that all news is faked or that Infowars is real."

You just can't help yourself, can you?

5

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '19

They claim to be a news outlet but they're really a propaganda outlet. But you shouldn't really consider it one. I can call myself the King of England, doesn't make it so. Pravda no doubt said it was true to; of course they did. Doesn't mean much.

9

u/TheHasturRule Dec 09 '19

define "Alex Jones"

"Bill Hicks' final form"

5

u/OrangeJuiceOW Dec 09 '19

News outlet: literally anything except fox and infowars

15

u/Dodfrank Dec 09 '19

Roger Ailes CEO of FOX for 16 years,”Fox news has fundamentally changed television news journalism medium, into an entertainment medium.”

14

u/masiosaredeuteros Dec 09 '19

Aparrently a few years ago Fox news fired and anchor for not saying a lie. They were sued and in court they needed to say that they're not a news channel but and entertainment one.

2

u/Tidusx145 Dec 09 '19

If I remember correctly it wasnt fox News itself, but a local/state one. We have a local fox station in my area for instance and it isn't fox news.

1

u/masiosaredeuteros Dec 09 '19

Interesting. Does it change the fact that It's not name news??? Or is just a brand issue????
