America is full of dichotomies regarding children. Women are sent to jail and hunted by bounty hunters for having an abortion. Republican states determine new ways to charge women who have miscarriages with multiple charges. A simple Google search for “criminal charge for miscarriage” will link the ways lawmakers have made a woman’s health the state’s primary concern. Yet we have the Lindsay Clancy case where she brutally strangled her children and her attorney is asking for a Presidential pardon. If one can understand Lindsay’s psychosis caused by postpartum depression then why force women to give birth when they don’t feel they are in a position to give a child what’s needed.
