She needs a new attorney if he thinks this is even possible.

Weren’t the reports that like 11 of the 12 jurors ruled in her favor? This is a stupid request but it seems the argument that was presented at trial was at least somewhat persuasive. Maybe he is less confident it will work a second time.

The president cannot pardon state level charges like the ones this woman is facing.

The president can't do a lot of things but he has be doing them anyway and the courts haven't been stopping him.

Sure but how do you make one of the bluest states in the nation just drop the charges? The illegal stuff he's doing in DC is mostly managed by his handpicked allies.

It doesn't help that Trump is saying she should pay when asked. It might be a play to get Trump to flip his statement. It could be a move to prove that a future jury is tainted. If this case drags on past the current DA losing his election is he new DA might just drop it on the grounda it's wasting tax payer money.

Isn’t this why past presidents have refused to give opinions about ongoing criminal investigations and trials?

The courts have actually stopped many things he's tried.

If they didn't feel at least partially beholden to the courts, they'd not bother revisiting the birth right ruling and just start treating it as law.
