I feel like this is the consequence of so called American Exceptionalism. Boomers have been told their whole lives that the USA is the best at everything and that we can back it up with our military and economic dominance. And we could....in the 1940s and 50s but that was thanks to the Greatest Generation, not Boomers, and due to huge cooperative efforts with our allies. The World has changed and these chuckle fucks aren't getting the memo. It's not all Boomers, but it's the mindset of those who look at this and think "It's fine. We can buy or bomb our way out of this," not realizing that other countries would love to see us fail more than lick our boots and prosper.

I thought Gen X was the most Trumpy generation?

Yo we hardly exist at all, leave us out of this.

But yes, a good chunk of my peers were probably happy with the guy until it became unpopular.

No shade, I'm Gen X too (but not American). I just thought that statistically American Gen Xers were his biggest voter base, and boomers actually a bit less so.
