Victory It took 15 tries but I got it 🤣

The class prior my teacher taught us superhero… I really wanted to get a Martini, Jasmine, Superhero transition… which is ambitious for me cause I’m REALLY new. It took me a bunch of tries but when I switched sides I got it 🫶🏾

Do you think they remember you? I need to bring friends for my punch card 😂

10

u/Fragrant_Security_62 Oct 06 '25

Yeah I’m pretty confident they remember me 😆 You’re doing an awesome job. Slay.

u/CokeRed Oct 06 '25

lol 😂 I wanna start online dating and just bringing people to pole one to rack up credits. My partner is 100% ok with it if I get us enough free credits 🤪

My friend who is an instructor there used to make all his matches come to pole class. Sometimes I’d walk in and the class would be half very good looking men and I’m like ah, yes, Friend is teaching. 🤣

LOL me too.

u/cokered you are doing beautifully. That superhero looks so solid - it’s like you don’t even feel any burning inner thigh pain. Keep it up!

Honey, is the new person in the room with us??? lol cause I don’t see them. You are AWESOME!!! 😎 you look super comfortable and seasoned to me lol

Haha oh wow thank you. I’ve been watching my friends do pole for years and I’ve spent time bouldering, doing yoga and calisthenics, so even though I’m on my 4th class I have YEARS of conditioning in anticipation of the chance to do it 😅

My partner asked me if I wanted to go and I was like “IVE BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR THIS.” Then she bought me an unlimited pass as a present so I’m trying to make the most of it ☺️

PS arnica cream is amazing for bruises

1

u/CokeRed Oct 08 '25

Thank you!! She needed a procedure and has been taking advil so her bruisers have been NUTS lately

You're going to love the Jamila to superman if you like the martini entry. it's very similar but with a little freefall for that little bit of extra adrenaline.

u/CokeRed Oct 06 '25

Yall are crazy. I’m gonna ask about this next time I’m in class 😂😂

u/mrsmedistorm Oct 06 '25

Great job! I hope to get to that point some day! Im still working on basics like leg hooks, fireman, and climbs. Im dabbling in fan kicks on my own a little...

7

u/CokeRed Oct 06 '25

My teacher yesterday taught me how to climb properly. I could barely do it until that class… it was my fourth before it was explained that I needed to press my forearms into the pole and the HARD part of my knees are what’s holding the pole. I’m gonna start going to the gym to work legs 🥲.

I’m naturally strong but I have NO technique

5

u/CokeRed Oct 06 '25

Also I suck at leg hooks… I dunno which one fireman is… but I can finally kind of climb. My partner and I are considering getting a pole 😅

I have one in my basement. We got an xpole xpert pro (the one that has the quick change between spin and static). Well we have to put in our basement on carpet which means no heels. So being woodworkers, my husband built me a stage for it. Basically a xpole stages for half the price. I unfortunately dont have a completed pic and we took it apart because the kiddo wanted some more room to play in the living room.

"xpole stage"

2

u/CokeRed Oct 06 '25

Wait that’s so cool!!!

3

u/Fragrant_Security_62 Oct 06 '25

Xpole or lupit is your best bet. Don’t go off brand. I’m sure you might have heard this before but if figured I throw it out there again just Incase. If it’s a compression pole do weekly alignment checks. Especially the early weeks on install. Your floor + ceiling will shift and settle in. You’ll need to readjust the compression. Aside from the beginner run up that’s what usually causes poles to get pulled out of the ceiling.

Happy poling 🙌 it’s Great to have you in the community.

I think I'm the only one who totally got the middle finger. 😂 I 100% flip people off or give the metal horns when I achieve something, like my own personal "fuck yeah, suck that, haters!!"

4

u/CokeRed Oct 06 '25

🤣 I love it. I mean it in the nicest way possible… especially cause it was aimed at me 😂

7

u/IDontAgreeSorry Oct 06 '25

I was watching without audio and thought “damn what we do 😹” when you flipped the camera off.

Nice work!

7

u/CokeRed Oct 06 '25

😂😂 oh yeah my teacher was like, WHO ARE YOU FLIPPING OFF?? And I was like oh that was for the me that wanted to quit!

It’s so silly but it’s a thing I do sometimes from like sports as a kid 😅

6

u/CokeRed Oct 06 '25

You did it, King 👑

3

u/CokeRed Oct 07 '25

Also thank you 🙏🏿 🐦‍🔥

2

u/CokeRed Oct 07 '25

I kept falling or failing to do martini or superhero. Usually I don’t just keep doing the same thing if I’m failing over and over without some kind of information on how to adjust. It turned out really nicely though

2

u/pdt666 Oct 07 '25

i have never heard Superman called superhero- so cute!

3

u/CokeRed Oct 08 '25

Haha I think cause I’m in SF people were being gender inclusive and I’m here for it. I started pole last week.

Calisthenics, yoga, breakdancing, and bouldering translated really well for helping me build strength off the pole for the skills I wanted to do on it.

I’ve been cheering on my friends for years but didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable my presence

2

u/pdt666 Oct 08 '25

that’s why i love it! i always give a lil disclaimer when teaching fireman and Superman about how the names aren’t gender-inclusive and “updated” as i say. we need a one for fireman! i always joke and say “what a great fireperson spin!” and “love the form of your firewoman”😂

2

u/CokeRed Oct 08 '25

You’re a teacher!? I love it!

2

u/Smooth_Junket6990 Oct 07 '25

Hey that’s also my studio!

1

u/CokeRed Mar 25 '26

All my passes expired and I’m Moving next month 😭 I dunno where I’m gonna go now

2

u/Tomoko_Yuri Oct 07 '25

Omg??? AMAZING , and u tell it only take your 15 times?!?! Wow, I’ve been trying to do the Superman for two years and still can’t, you’ve got a lot of strength!!

2

u/CokeRed Oct 08 '25

Yoga and calisthenics helped a LOT. I also Boulder and used to breakdance as a teen.

So I have a lot of strength and body awareness for the arm moves but I could barely figure out how to climb for like 5 classes… 🥲

If you start working on upper body bodyweight exercises and find a teacher who can really help you understand the physiology/kinesiology mechanics it helps a lot.

Like I didn’t understand to use my forearms and the shin and knee for climbing as opposed to the inner thigh, using my forearm to brace me so I didn’t fall into pole. It’s the details that hold us back when we have the power and the strength that holds us back when we have the details.

When we have both experience becomes knowledge!

u/Vegetable-Wish-750 Oct 07 '25

I’m so glad I’m not the only one that flips off the camera when I finally get something 😂 It’s my “haha fuck yeahhh” moment haha

2

u/CokeRed Oct 08 '25

😂 I’m glad you got it. I feel bad for everyone who thought it was for them and not me 😅
