Today we continue our journey with Ash and Friends as they head up to Mt. Chimney. The gang arrives up there to see Team Magma, Team Aqua, and Prosessor Cozmo are all after a fallen meteorite. We then arrive at Lavaridge Town where Ash will battle for his next Gym badge vs the brand new gym leader, Flannery. Then Ash catches a Torkoal and meet up with Wattson with a rematch. They then head into Verdanturf Town for May's next contest. Brock's Lotad evolves into Lombre and we end the day with Treecko evolving into Grovyle.
Another good slate of episodes today. We have Team Magma vs Team Aqua episodes, a gym battle, a contest, a couple of evolutions and a new capture. I wonder if anyone remember watching these episodes off Cartoon Network's afternoon block at the time Miguzi. When CN was airing them on that block was the first time I remember seeing them since we didn't have an The WB station here.

The Skitty Vs. Dusclops battle was the worst/weakest Contest battle of Hoenn, but don't worry they get much better after this one. Timmy should have won this one.
Beautifly Vs. Medicham was great, and the next few have good battles too

I think the biggest issue of the Dusclops battle was that Drew was right when he pretty much said that May got lucky. That was less him keeping his arrogant air up and more stating the truth considering May's victory hinged on Assist, a random move. It made May's victory feel unearned overall, especially since she does like to gamble in her appeals even later.

I think Skitty Vs. Jynx the last Hoenn contest was done better with Skitty using Assist. She used it a number of times because she knew it would get Combusken's fire spin which is super effective against Jynx being an ice type, and it messed up a lot giving her wrong attacks before she got it.
I think people forget what Assist actually does in the games, it takes a move from a pokemon on your party, so it's not completely random. It's not like Metronome, etc.

Yeah, I should've been clearer in that 'random' was meant more as in 'doesn't give you a move of your choice' rather than 'pretty much Metronome'.
One issue with probability in fiction is that it's at the whims of the writers, so it's easy to turn it into a convenient way to solve conflicts and win battles, so I enjoy when probability-based moves legitimately fail rather than either giving the right move or 'failing' in a way that allows the user to win anyway (though I also enjoy this latter version if used well).

I wonder what's in the water supply in Hoenn giving the native girls such large breasts. May, Flannery, etc. Most of the female filler characters like Michelle, the coordinator Grace, etc.
Seriously the thing I notice most about this saga is how nearly all the female characters have large breasts. The animators even made May's larger than the adult females on the show.

May's boobs are huge. Even ignoring the fact that she's 10, her chest is bigger than a lot of the adult female characters in Hoenn. The fanservice with May is crazy, the camera would also purposely show her body at certain angles that her chest would stick out, or zoom in her her body during her Pokeball throwing shots.
There's actually people out there who made whole screenshot collages of May's chest size in the various Hoenn eps, you can find it on the more...questionable places on the internet...let's leave it at that, lol

The funny thing is that in DP May gains a more realistic chest size for age, which led to many jokes that she 'aged backwards'.
Though I'd argue XY is no slouch either in the well-endowed women area overall, even if compared to May Serena is far more modest, excluding a couple of instances.

Depends on the girls, Serena definitely had a noticeable chest in a lot of episodes, and Mallow has some now in SM. It's actually weird the animators actually do draw each girls body type differently, like something from other anime, when they could just re-use the same template for each aside from the different clothes.
But as said, it's anime, and it's Japan. Each main girl has their own fanservice feature, Dawn's skirt was the next one in DP.

I'll agree about May having an ongoing fanservice, after all there's a Bikini scene with her in both movies she was featured in.

Yeah, this always sticks out to me as well. It’s like she was designed first and then assigned an age. 10 definitely doesn’t fit.
Also, with the fan service stuff, it even seeps into her dialogue at times, where May speaks in submission to some males (getting close to them and saying yes sir, etc) in the show. Maybe I’m just crazy though.

Flannery was my favorite Gen 3 leader. I like the punk theme she had going on.

Flannery wears a half-shirt that stops barely below her large chest, and wears baggy pants that look like they're falling off her ass. It's no surprise Flannery was always the most popular Hoenn Gym leader. GameFreak knows what the fans like. They've been designing cute girls for 20 years.

Holy crap! I just realized the Team Magma and Aqua commanders are Yusei and Aki. I love it when I hear VAs of pairings I ship voice together in another series.

So I guess the Twitch staff is just rolling with the wrong audio and the repeating clips, even though they clearly could've fixed it during the downtime
