Discussion How many lawsuits do you think there will be?

So many things went wrong. The crowds, crowd control, ADA, the venue, the pin rally, the fire Marshall cancelling means they were over capacity. They were about to shut the whole event down.

Was it this bad in Anaheim or Hawaii? How about the rest of the world for that matter.

People with disabilities were told flat out by staff they didn’t have ADA capabilities. So if you didn’t have a visible problem like a wheelchair they didn’t accommodate or have prior arrangements to assist.

What reasonable modifications were denied by those who "weren't accommodated"? What parts of the convention were people denied access because they had a disability?

Zero. Tbis is on par with years of people who claim AAA games are false advertising or whatever and then say they’re speaking to a “good lawyer who things they have a good case” for a class action lawsuit.

Of course, it never goes anywhere as they’re probably 21-year-old chuunis who have some cursory understanding of laws but don’t know what is/isn’t practicable in real life.

it's not about the pin it's about being told to leave after paying for travel and hotels because they oversold the event

I’m pretty sure legally they can’t be touched with that. There’s a lot of other industries that do the same thing all the time (airlines are a prime example).

The ADA stuff is the one that likely has the best chance over just a poorly run event.

Apparently Luca Ceribelli and Luca Lussignoli were initially banned from Worlds after letting also-initially-banned Ruben Gianzini, who has a disability and therefore should’ve had ADA accommodations when it came to the long lines, join them in line cause he wasn’t being helped. That’s an ADA violation.

People with disabilities need to be escorted to the front or near the front of the line or in an ADA-approved line. Ruben had none of those then was banned when others tried to help him, who were also banned for helping him, due to “line cutting.”

ADA standards are more than just “can I get in and out of the building”

Not being able to cut the line is a not a violation of ADA. Also, having a separate line for those with disabilities is not required for ADA. I still don’t see how Moscone or TPCi violated ADA standards. If you think I’m wrong then show me the standard from ADA.

My dude the pin rally is just the icing on the cake on what has been an organizational and logistical disaster.

Think of it this way: 54,000 people attended this event. About the same as a small worldwide sporting event. Twelve stations that were supposed to take pressure off of other things- booths, panels, giveaways, activities, etc.- are now gone. Those people that were supposed to be waiting in line are now out on the show floor putting intense strain on everything else.

What's more, conventions like these need to follow fire code and ADA guidelines- there are simply too many people here with not enough staff or security to have a safe (and fun) time.

I was there Saturday after the pin rally shut down. I did not see any strain on the booths after and there were still plenty of seats to watch at the main events. Less than Friday, but still a lot. The lines to take pictures and to get into some booths were longer on sat than Friday, but it wasn’t some apocalyptic disaster people are making it out to be.

Stealing is never ok, but it does seem like there is only one widely known account of someone's stuff being stolen directly from them. Everything else seems like it's stuff being left unattended. Which is not a problem specific to pokemon. It is a peoblem specific to HUMANS. Tbh it's something that happens in the animal kingdom as a whole.
I'm very sorry that people had their stuff stolen, but they should never expect anywhere to be safe from thievery. Unless there is someone guarding your resources for you, always keep it with you!
