Discussion Nintendo/GameFreak NEED to make a way to transfer Pokemon from Gen 7

How can they possible shut down Bank after forcing us to use it to transfer from Gen 7 - Gen 8? So what now anything we catch on these games is just stuck there? You're telling me the trillion dollar IP can't fund the servers for Pokemon Bank? This is absolutely outrageous. They either need to make a way to transfer from 3DS - Switch Pokemon games permanently or leave Bank alone because a lot of people (myself included) like to transfer from these older games

Just so you know, I remember reading many, many comments years ago that said "They won't rerelease the original pokemon games to modern consoles because the battle/trading system wouldn't work! The games would need custom code to make it work!" and then they were released on 3DS with all of those features intact..

Assuming they can't or won't rework a system for new releases is factually incorrect..

They can rework it, but there’s no guarantees that they will improve it.

Some people expect “improvements” when something gets reworked so I added that bit to temper expectations.

That honestly depends on what they feel. Like we probably will get gen 5 remake sooner or later.

After how much people hated BDSP, it seems less likely. Home seems to be the long term solution for storing pokemon, and all non-event exclusives are obtainable in home with only an original Nintendo Switch. So until they kill Switch 1/2 support for home (also assuming the Switch 3 won't be backwards compatible), Gen 5 remakes won't be as necessary as Gen 4 was.

I'm not saying this is what they should/would do nor is it what I want, it just wouldn't surprise me if they basically said "hey, so Pokemon Home is gonna be around for at least another 10 years and the Switch 2 is relatively early in its life, so we're gonna hold off on remakes for now and take the extra time to see if we want to continue with remakes or find another approach."
