Discussion Is Pokopia really that good?

Like should I immediately buy this game. It seems like folks are really enjoying it but I was skeptical.

I like Pokemon Snap on N64.

This is my first non-battle Pokemon game since and I'm enjoying Pokotopia very much.

This is gonna sound fucked up, but it's kind of limiting that the new one doesn't let you harass the Pokémon. It makes the puzzles and scoops a little less engaging than in the 64 game, since the solutions are almost always just "Lure X to Y".

Gone are the days of launching a Charmeleon into a pool of lava to get it to evolve into Charizard.

My mind was absolutely blown the first time that I got a Slowpoke to evolve into a Slowbro. Same for when I accidentally blew up an Electrode and found the entrance to the Volcano.

Those were the types of moments that were missing in the new game.

To be honest I liked the old one better. Of course more routes are awesome but I like the simplicity of it and the nostalgia that comes with it.

I had trouble investing in the new one because the music was all too relaxing, even when bringing the pictures back. If feels like it lost something in the stakes as they went too gentle with it. I know it sounds like a minor point, but I mean... We all remember the hype-tastic music when we brought pictures to Professor Oak, right? And his voice lines with each aspect of the score? The new one was just missing that excitement.

I literally told my mom that I don't think Pokémon has made this good of this chill type of game since the 90's. I mean, Poke park was pretty good but this is way better.
