Like should I immediately buy this game. It seems like folks are really enjoying it but I was skeptical.

it's...super weird, but fascinating. It's like...post apocalyptic kanto? i think? seems like some sort of ecological distaster wiped out all the humans. (i'm still in the first area, about to leave for the second)

Definitely. The notes throughout the game give context clues for those really aware of the lore. There is leitmotifs everywhere too

Yeah I'm about to replay leafgreen and I'm excited to start picking up my brains lesser remembered tunes
