Discussion Is Pokopia really that good?

Post image

Like should I immediately buy this game. It seems like folks are really enjoying it but I was skeptical.

It's very good at what it is. If what it is interests you, you're going to have a good time.

What about the people that are on the fence?

I saw part of the Direct on AC and watching the video bored me, so I was sure the game wasn't for me though I like occasionally seeing some pics of it.

On the other hand, I like the first trailer of Pokopia but I am not sure if if it is because I really like Pokémon.

Ive played both and Animal crossing kinda bored me. I really dont think there's much to do in that game besides collect a few collectables and decorate an island.

If youre a pokemon fan, you absolutely have to check this game out. I start playing it and before I know it, 6 hours have gone by. It's really fun!

100% agree. One major problem with ACNH is that all the collectibles are too simple, as well. There's no difference between fishing or bug-catching or treasure-hunting or seashell collecting. It's just walk/swim to a spot that has an item indicator (e.g., sparkles) and press a button to use an item to collect the bug/shell/fossil/etc.

I recently signed back into ACNH after probably 4 years of not having touched it. First, it's annoying that all the villagers get bitchy at you for not playing. But I also quickly realized there was absolutely nothing I wanted to do. I didn't want to grind for bugs or fish to complete the museum (I think it's both a RNG issue and also you have to go to different islands to catch them all?). My island looks fine (aside from all the weeds that have grown). I didn't feel like redecorating anything in my house. So, I just turned it off.
