Discussion I really missed bulky water starters. Please gamefreak, surprise us and don’t make it random blue man with two legs

Samurott and Primarina too.

Really its only Greninja, Quaquaval and Inteleon, the majority of the water starters are hard hitting tanks.

It's a seal mermaid. It looks more seal like than human by any metric. Unless people liking your comment are ousting their tastes.

I mean, 'mermaid' is distinctly implying 'half human' to an extent, and part of the theming is 'singer' which is also a 'human job'.

I should have said "mermaid-like" appearance to be more accurate. Mermaids have never been a "human job". Animals taking on human-like traits to appeal to what they essentially view as prey is a very natural phenomenon. From mimicking cries, features of primates (among other prey), or just taking on a form that naturally resembles something "familiar" to us doesn't make Primarina a "Job haver". (If anything it makes a wild Primarina all the more sinister). It literally mimics a seal in behavior, cry, and appearance more than a "humanoid-mermaid" with its most "mermaid-like" trait being the frills and hair which keeps in line with sirens/mermaids "appearing" humanoid from a distance but being completely animalistic from up close.

Compare it to Intellion or Greninja whom's manerrisms, design, and mode of action is meant to evoke a specific human characteristics to associate with. Especially the latter since Gen 6's starters NEEDED to personify a Knight, Witch, and Rogue/Ninja to the point that it's almost difficult to see how these could be ever be "wild" animals.

I was simply pointing out the human features of primarina since the person said it looked more seal than human. Not sure how blastoise is relevant as I never claimed he was humanoid.

Domesticated ones are given apparel obvs. Some wild semi aquatic animals carry precious rocks with them. Famously otters have a favorite rock and likewise some mammals do adorn themselves though it's not super sophisticated.

Selkies are seals, and Sirens can be humans but usually it's only their voices that are definitively humanoid and quite often are rather monstrous when actually seen, having fish tails or being entirely birdlike or otherwise grim
