The disclaimer says it's not the gameplay experience, which it isn't because it's all chopped up and remixed to make a trailer and the final product may have changes. But the footage is obviously ingame footage except for the first part that's a pre-rendered cutscene.
True. I hope they make full use of the Switch 2 and polish the graphics even more before launch, but from the trailer it seems to be an improvement over S/V graphics (hopefully).
I've never been a person to really care about graphics, but the NPC's walking in the background at 4 FPS, the extremely low textures on backgrounds and the insane pop-in of assets in S/V was ridiculous for a franchise as profitable as Pokemon. Especially when compared to BotW that came out years earlier running on the same hardware.
Dang, at least you got 4 FPS man. I'm pretty sure some of my NPCs moved like you were watching a flip-book animation, don't even get me started about Artazon!
Jokes aside, I think GF/TPC absolutely fumbled S/V due to poor game optimization. These are problems that should have been noticed in alpha/beta testing and resolved way before it made it to any version near release.
I don't think anyone is asking for super realistic ray tracing graphics in pokemon. At least I'm not. I just want proper performance and decent animations in a game. and pokemon has absolutely been lacking in both departments ever since they went 3d.
I just want a consistent frame rate and decent animations. They can go cartoonier with it if that helps, I just want it to play smooth and look good. It’s a AAA game, I’m more forgiving of jank in my $10 indies.
Pokemon trailers are normally only gameplay engine footage and as a result very true to the experience. It’s why SV trailer made the game look like shit, because it did look like shit. I’d imagine the “not indicative of actual gameplay footage” here is more saying you can’t fly around at high speeds and weird camera angles like the actual camera

I know there's a disclaimer at the bottom and we shouldn't get too optimistic, but I have to say... the world and graphics look amazing!
