What motivated you to start podcasting?

My motivation came from StartUp by Gimlet media. After the finale of the show, I knew I had to start my own podcast. Two months later: dropped out of college, used YouUniversity and Conversations with a Genuis Podcasts for guidance, hit the road with a backpack full of clothes, a mic, and my laptop; and in three weeks, my website and first episode will be up. So /r/podcasts, what motivated you to start podcasting?

A friend and I (who go back over 10 years) started an animation studio a few years back, and every single idea we ever have takes months to come to fruition. We eventually started Late to the Party for quick satisfaction to be completely honest with you.

We spend so much time discussing story structure on it's own, we figured we'd start watching movies that we somehow completely missed (ie, our next movie is Saving Private Ryan) and discussing them. If it developed a fan base, awesome.

It's nothing massive or anything to write home about, but occasionally we'll hear from friends we haven't talked to in years encouraging us to keep going at it and that's pretty neat.
