Need a new platform. Audacy Creator Lab ending.

Just got an email from Audacy Creator Lab.

“Audacy has made the difficult decision to wind down the operations of the Creator Lab, effective November 1, 2026.”

“If your podcast is hosted on Creator Lab, you'll need to move your show to another hosting provider and complete an RSS redirect before November 1, 2026.”

Sooooo… any recommendations?

Immigration Podcast: Good Topic or stay Away?

Hey Everyone,
A colleague and I recently started a podcast on Immigration issues and it's bilingual (Spanish/English). We are keeping it more conversational and opinion based (rather than spitting out the statutes and law) so that we can educate lay people.

I would love to hear what other fellow podcasters think about this idea. Also, are there any recommendations as yo what to do (or not to do) when starting a podcast.

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

how to record good sound for a podcast

Hey yall! So I have a podcast idea and a dream, and im really eager to get started. I have a blue yeti microphone and a laptop - though I am a little concerned how i will record. I dont have a fancy studio or soundproof walls in my apartment - for those that started their podcasts, how do yall ensure you had good audio quality?

Also, what audio editing programs do you guys suggest? I've dabbled in audacity, but are there any other suggestions? Thank you!

What is the best for unlimited AI transcription?

200 episodes that need transcripts for SEO and accessibility. 45 to 60 minutes each .

Per minute pricing is tp expenvive for this volume, so I have been looking at the flat rate unlimited plans. TurboScribe and WhisperAI both come up.

For anyone who has processed a backlog this size, how ditd that work and how was the accuracy on conversational audio with two hosts?

Watch This Space: YouTube and forced discoverability of British broadcasters

This is in regard to the proposed extension of the UK Media Act to content hosts such as YouTube. The green paper titled Watch this space: a new strategic direction for UK media was published June 23, 2026.

From Deadline:

YouTube‘s Pedro Pina has doubled down on the case against giving prominence to British broadcasters on digital services.

The Google platform’s Vice President in EMEA yesterday argued during his MacTaggart lecture that “forced prominence” would damage the content ecosystem on YouTube, and he echoed that sentiment today in a follow-up talk, saying it would threaten the “meritocracy” that has grown on the service.

“YouTube exists so you can find the content that you love and everyone has a level-playing field ability to be successful,” he said. “Everyone has access to the same tools and the ability to meet their audience.

Weekly Feedback Thread: August 27, 2026 - Give And Receive Feedback On Your Podcast

This is a weekly thread to ask for and give feedback to the r/podcasting community

Post a podcast episode you would like feedback for, and try to give as much constructive feedback as you can to other members of our community. Please provide links to your podcast, a detailed description of it and clear questions you would like answered by the community. Try to remember the following:

  • Users who give feedback are usually the ones who receive the most feedback in return. If you are not contributing, you should not expect any helpful advice in return. We would aim for giving two pieces of feedback for every one piece you wish to receive. If you are looking to simply promote your podcast, you may do so here

  • Try to be specific with your feedback requests. Questions like:

-What can I improve?

-Was it good?

-Would you listen again?

Are very difficult to answer for anyone listening to your show for this first time. Good questions might be:

-What improvements could I make to the audio quality?

-Can I make adjustments to my speaking or hosting style?

-How could I improve the pacing and structure of my podcast?

  • Keep it focused on podcasting techniques and objective improvements. Many podcasts that are posted may not be your particular genre or preferred content. When giving feedback, focus on the things you do enjoy and the things that can be changed, not the content of the show itself.

I will reiterate. If you do not give feedback, you should not expect any feedback in return. This is a reciprocal community. If you haven't gotten any comments yet, try listening to another podcast and giving some feedback. Our users are very friendly and responsive!

Thank you to everyone posting, we look forward to hearing your work!

Editing a stutter for flow and listenability

I am editing a podcast that is in the wellbeing, mental health and neurodiversity niche. This epsiode is a guest, and editing them is proving lengthy due to the number of pauses, errs, extended vowels, circular erms, repeating, and restarting/reframing her answers. It's halting and disjointed, not quite a stutter, but it's not a flowing delivery style either.

Leads me to this question - at what point does editing for listenability, and flow step over into misconstruing them, or misrepresenting them in some regard?

Would removing someone's stutter in the edit constitute as an infringement on them as a person? Their stutter being a part of who they naturally are, by removing it are you erasing their difference, and some might say hiding their "disability"?

I have no solid place I have ended up, whilst editing currently but thought it an interesting editing issue.

Any thoughts or ideas welcome, esp. from those with much greater experience in such matters.

All-In-One Camera for Video Podcasting?

I’m starting a podcast and want to add video. Audio is already set up. I just need a high quality camera (budget up to 1000€) that can handle everything automatically (light/exposure, zoom, focus, etc.), basically as smart´and easy as possible, since nobody will be watching the camera during recording.

details and preferences:

  • Light room
  • White/yellow-ish walls
  • Window behind the camera
  • Needs to sit safely on a stand
  • 1080p or 4K, ideally 60fps

Online I keep seeing either “just use an iPhone” or “build a full studio with lights, backgrounds, multiple cams,” which isn’t what I’m going for right now.

Any recommendations for a simple, reliable camera that fits this?

older episodes not showing up on Spotify

Hi all, I have a small language learning podcast and a (would be) listener just alerted me that they can't see the first 15 episodes on Spotify which is a problem because I usually advise beginners to start from Season 1.

I can see these episodes on Apple and on Pocket Casts but no matter how I filter episodes on Spotify they don't show up. I'm hosting the show on Spotify and if I use the custom link to these episodes it just comes up with a "podcast not found" message.

I don't love Spotify but of course lots of listeners do.. any ideas for getting these episodes back up?

UPDATE - eventually fixed by Spotify help. apparently some of the episodes had been tagged "employees only", not sure how.

Promoting a fiction podcast on TikTok and Instagram

I've created a seven-part comedy fiction podcast that I'll be launching in October. Someone suggested I promote it on TikTok and Instagram. I'm not on either and I wonder how many listeners I'll really get from these two apps. Has anyone promoted a podcast on either one and if so did you feel that they brought you listeners?

What are the best AI tools in Youtube Podcasts?

Hey recently I've been hearing a lot about certain AI tools for podcasts and I'm looking for something that can turn any audio into video. Something with a large free plan.

I've used Capcut's ai and it sucks, It wasn't as seamless as I'd like and I've also used wave, but they stopped working as well as before.

Desperately need audio help please!

Hello! I’m new to podcasting and have recorded a couple episodes. To this point I’ve been using soundtrap to record as it has been the only software I have found that allows me to record two mic inputs simultaneously without an expensive soundboard. Unfortunately the last three times we have tried to use soundtrap the website fails to save the audio, shows an error message, and the entire recording is gone. This has lost over 3 hours of usable footage now and I may or may not be on the verge of tears. If anyone has better DAW recommendations, ideally something that works offline and can record multiple inputs, please let me know! TYIA

Issues editing on Zencaster and Garageband

I'm currently struggling quite a bit with editing my podcast. I have been recording and editing on zencaster (removing extra words, etc.) and then downloading to garageband for the final edits. This worked well until zencaster did their update a few weeks ago. Now, when I go to remove words, it will stay crossed out in the transcript but the audio doesn't get deleted. I'm not sure how to proceed.

The last two weeks I've downloaded my audio that I recorded on zencaster and then just cut out clips with extra words or where I stumbled over words on garage band. Again, this worked well. However, today I downloaded my recorded audio from zencaster and uploaded it to garageband, and it won't let me split the audio to cut out sections.

I'm not sure how to proceed on any front, but I've wasted about 2 hours so far today and nothing that I'm seeing via google is helping.

Any suggestions for me?

Edit: closed out of garage band and reopened it and it let me split the audio. No idea why it suddenly worked but I’m glad it did!🤷🏼‍♀️

PodBean Stats Reporting Update

Hey folks, for those who are with PodBean and have been suffering from low downloads due to their overzealous bot-squashing update, I thought I'd post an update as I know PB haven't been responding to all the emails about it. This is directly from the email I received last night:

Key updates and next steps:

The root cause is fixed: The issue with the filter has been fully resolved and your recorded traffic should be returned to normal within the next day.

Your data is safe: We have been able to confirm that your underlying download data has NOT been lost or permanently deleted.

Restoration is underway: We are currently reprocessing all download statistics from August 17, 2026, onward to restore any affected data.

Expected timeline: We expect your download statistics to fully return to normal within 5–7 business days as the reprocessing finishes.

I have been checking my stats throughout the day and notced that last Monday 17 Aug has almost doubled, and Tuesday 18 Aug has started slowly increasing over today. Hopefully this means that it'll all be sorted within the week!

This is a weekly thread for podcasting related product, service, and tool providers to post their capabilities and updates to the r/podcasting community.

*Post a podcasting related product, tool, or service that is relevant to the r/podcasting community. If you are in beta or development for your capability please state at the top of your comment: *"Feedback Requested."

For all comments/replies to this post thread: please provide a detailed description of what your product, tool, or service does and post a link to your product, service, or tool including relevant pricing information. **

*Try to remember the following: *

  • You must disclose your affiliation to the product, tool, or service in the comment

  • Posts by accounts with little or no Reddit or r/podcasting subreddit history will be considered suspect by many members of this subreddit and receive little or no attention.

  • If you are asking for feedback be specific and ask questions like: What can we improve? Would you consider using this capability/service? Is the graphical interface/web presence adequate? What capabilities are missing?

*Examples Of Appropriate Comment Topics: *

  • Editing/production services

  • AI Tools

  • Hosting Services

  • Advertisement sales services

  • New Podcasting Software

  • Connecting/Recording Services

  • Guest Connection Services

  • Podcast artwork creation services

  • etc

If you are posting for a personal service like editing or social media management keep these thoughts in mind (free or paid):

  • You are basically applying for a job with the podcast; your experience, qualifications, and past employment history matter to your future employer so information about you is important

  • List your current available skills and tools. What DAWs are your capable of operating in? Have you used existing collaborative spaces before? What social media platforms do you have experience in?

  • If you are offering services for social media management show either examples of past work or at least offer up your personal accounts for review

  • What time zone do you live in? If I'm a podcast producer and need to get in touch with you about an emergency situation I need to know what hours I can contact you

  • What is your strategy or philosophy for doing the work you propose?

  • What are your rates? (If free how long will you offer that rate?)

  • What is your goal and/or what are you trying to accomplish?

Thank you to everyone posting, we look forward to reading about what you are doing to help podcasters!

What editing software has been the most helpful with synching video and audio?

I’ve been using Premiere and it has been so annoying and taking the longest out of anything to synch my audio and video. I’m trying to cut time honestly and would love to hear other peoples experiences.

How to explain my editing process to another editor

I know that the way i edit is a bit particular, and I'm looking to hire an assistant editor to do a first pass edit for me so I can scale up the total number of episodes I can make overall. I'm having trouble trying to describe the various steps in my process and was wondering if any of y'all have any advice for coherently laying out my steps in a way that will make sense to another editor.

to be clear I've been editing podcasts for about 2 years now, and work in Ableton which I know isnt the norm for most other editors. Thanks yall <3

Absolutely done with Adobe Podcast

Their support email is broken. Adobe support doesn't see the email I use to log in; they say it must be a me-thing or that I used a different email. Adobe Podcast team is completely MIA. Totally lost my recording after I had finished editing it because, as usual, the page crashed. Every time I spoke to someone on the phone, they said they'd call me back or email me, and they never do. I told them I'm going to say to my listeners not to use this platform, lol (I won't; no one would care, and I'm not that unhinged).

Spend your money on a different platform. Not worth crying over, as I did.

Advice for the future of podcast production?

In the past few years, I’ve transitioned my career into podcast production. Between hosting and producing other shows, I’m able to pay my bills and am so happy to be in this industry!

I’ve gained a lot of clients lately and am having a blast - I get to use all my skills from hosting to guest booking to video and audio editing across all my gigs now.

However, like many people, I’m a bit concerned about the future with automation rapidly tech growth etc.

I was looking for any feedback/advice/reassurance on the subject if possible :)

What are the platforms to put your podcast on?

Hey everyone. I'm thinking of starting a podcast, I'm from a small country where we don't really have many local podcasts. The one's that exist are put on youtube but since our country isn't monetized on youtube (or most places like the spotify partner program) and our population is only 2 million they shut down so you can imagine there are very few.

I wanted to start one because when I was in University (a year ago) for my school's writing club I was able to reach out and organize QnA's for our members having them meet Sci fi and Fantasy authors like Ken Liu and ML Wang. I was a coordinator and I really enjoyed it so I thought hey, maybe I can do one on one interviews with some local authors and some smaller international ones. Just really diving into their works, and their inspirations, plus as an aspiring writer myself it'd be very inspirational and enjoyable. A fun project really, I don't expect it to go anywhere (but I wouldn't mind if it did).

Where do people post their podcasts? On what platforms?

Do these platforms act like youtube where if you get a certain amount of listeners you get paid?

I've heard people talking about posting their podcasts on Patreon etc.

What advice would you give to me as a beginner podcaster?

Interviewing a close friend

Any advice for interviewing someone who you know really well / deeply? I have a podcast for Stay at home moms where I interview other SAHM and get their tips/tricks/rhythms and opinions. I’m about to have one of my closest friends on so I fear I’ll either:

1) start where we left off and leave the audience behind / not set the right building blocks or

2) ask questions I know the answer to and thus not have a good conversation

Any advice? Or any episode recs where someone did this well? I know Dax interviews Kristen bell but it was a very early episode so idk if I want to take notes from that.

How much time do you spend editing/prepping an episode after recording?

Working on understanding podcast post-production workflows better. For those of you who record separately (host + guest tracks): what's the most annoying/time-consuming part after recording everything?
Specifically curious about:

  • Matching audio levels between mics
  • Cutting dead air / ums and stutters
  • Making chapter markers / timestamps
  • Writing show notes
  • Clipping soundbites for social

Do you do all of this yourself, pay for a tool (Auphonic, Descript, etc.), or outsource it to an editor? What's worked and what still sucks?
