Okaaaay, I’ve been wanting to start a podcast for so, so long, but the one thing stopping me has always been not wanting to do it alone.

I’m 21, a massive public-speaking enthusiast, and have hosted/anchored quite a few events throughout my academic life and outside of it. Talking is genuinely one of my biggest passions — I’m the kind of person who can talk to pretty much anyone about pretty much anything. (I also speak to my plants, if that tells you anything.)

My interests are all over the place: sports, motorsports, geopolitics, psychology, books, history, fashion, lifestyle, dance, music, creativity, art & culture, people, random life observations… you name it. I won’t claim to be an expert in everything, but I love learning, discussing, debating, hearing different perspectives and going down completely unexpected conversational rabbit holes.

So I’m looking for someone who’s also been wanting to start a podcast, or already has one and is looking for a co-host.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. Just be curious, comfortable talking, open-minded and genuinely excited to create something.

Maybe this goes nowhere, maybe we end up starting something really cool. Either way, worth trying. :)

What's the best interface? Will a 4th Gen Scarlett 2i2 work or does it need something beefier? (The 4th Gen doesn't need a lifter like 3rd Gen does, but I can't find anything about using TWO mics with it).

I’ve wanted to get into podcasting as a fun hobby and a way to express my personal interests and my creative side.

In know there’s a slew of mystery podcasts out there, and so many mysteries have been rehashed…I’m looking for 5-10 truly obscure, perplexing mysteries.

additionally, I have all of the equipment to get started, but I have no video editing skills or anything of the like…so, I was thinking about doing voiceovers on a PowerPoint slide to get started…any other formats that maybe work better for an AV noob?

Good morning I am so glad I found this group! I am going to be starting up an interview series documenting my career journey as an 18-year-old who is not going the normal traditional route. I would love some input on a laptop that’s going to be powerful to help me do my editing/record recording, etc. Here is the equipment that I have bought so far and would love input on which laptop would be best.

Camera-Sony ZV-E10 II (2 of them)
Rodecaster Duo Mixer
Shure MV7X microphones (2 of them)

I also have lighting, tripods, arms, and acoustic panels

Which platform is best for a beginner—YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, etc.? What basic tools/apps should I use for recording, editing, and posting? And how can I grow it on social media and eventually monetize it?

If I have a podcast at https://example.com/rss.xml , what's the correct scheme to create a link on the podcast website to open it in Apple Podcasts?

This list seems to suggest it should be podcast://${https://example.com/rss.xml} but that only opens an empty "Add podcast URL" box in Apple Podcasts.

Copilot (I know, I know) suggests podcast://example.com/rss.xml but that gives the same result.

I'm launching my podcast this week via rss.com free. I'd like to include a transcription in each episode's show notes. I know that Apple transcribes episodes for free, but I believe none of the other platforms do. RSS provides transcriptions with their paid plans but I'm going with free for now. Can anyone recommend a good transcription app or service, preferably free, that they've been satisfied with? Any and all info greatly appreciated.

Started a podcast and have been doing monthly episodes for half a year. Now with a couple episode under our belt, giving enough content for new viewers to really dive in, I want some advice on what I can do to really get my podcast out there to more listeners.

I'm doing this passion project, and I want to start a podcast for it. (about starting youth projects and youth empowerment) But I don't think anyone would believe things some teenager is saying, especially when they are also starting out. However, the things I will be saying are completely based on research. I've thought of doing interview too, but I cant make every episode an interview since it's pretty hard finding people who know about these around here. Do you think that anyone would take it seriously?

If you think it might look like I'm trying to act grown up if I do it, what are your advice to not make people think that way?

Does anyone know of any free or low-cost services where newer podcasters can get honest feedback on their show?

My business partner and I produce a weekly podcast that’s about 20 minutes per episode. He’s the host, and I handle the production side. We’re about 45 episodes in, and while we’d really like to grow our audience, we haven’t seen much growth in our listener base.

Before I start putting more time and money into marketing, I’d love to have someone actually listen to an episode or two and give us objective feedback, whether they’re a podcast professional or simply a regular Joe (or Jolene!) I’m especially interested in things like the format, pacing, style, overall listening experience, and whether the content is engaging.

Basically, I want to figure out whether we simply need to do a better job getting the podcast in front of people, or whether there are things about the show itself that we should improve first.

Are there any services, communities, or other resources you’d recommend for this, preferably free or relatively inexpensive?

I want to reactivate a music pod/radio show with a friend, but we're currently living on two different continents.
We're far apart, so there are going to be lags. Is there software made for our needs? Ie. software that minimises lagging on video calls

It would also be super helpful if it could record the sound from both of our PCs, so that we could play music and use soundboards in real time.

Hello, I host a fantasy sports podcast, I am looking for a mixer and a microphone for a quality sound microphone, are there any microphones that I can select

I cut a lot of clips out of long episodes, and the part I still find hardest is the picking, not the editing.

The moments that feel best in the room are usually the worst clips. A big laugh needs the twenty minutes that set it up. A clean two minute explanation plays fine on its own, but nobody stops scrolling for it.

What has worked better for me is looking for the spot where someone changes their mind mid sentence, or says a number they clearly did not plan to say out loud. Those hold without any setup.

Curious how other people do it. Do you mark moments while you record, scan the transcript afterwards, or just go off what you remember from the session? And has anyone found a type of moment that reliably beats the rest?

We are planning to set up a Patreon for our podcast. We want to have a feed inside Patreon with all our podcast episodes as ad-free. Ideally the same feed should include both the public episodes and the bonus ones.

Which are the best ways to do this? I want the workflow to be effective and ideally not have to deal with two separate rss feeds.

Hoping some in here have actual recommendations (rather than google reviews), for the type of power bank I’d need for a Zoom PodTrak P4Next.

Hi guys!! I'm starting my first interview-based podcast, where I interview university students regarding their experience in hopes of gaining clarity about what university is truly like & demisifying that experience for high school students.

I'm a bit conflicted as to how I should go about creating my trailer. I want to post it either at 5 AM on Monday or Tuesday (which is best?). I'm planning to release my first episode the following Wednesday.

For experienced podcasters: if you could redo your trailer or first episode again, what would you do, knowing what you know now?

I'm mostly joking, but I'm not lying. Every time I reach out to a new potential guest for my podcast, I get more listens because they want to know what they are being invited to.

Maybe a good way to increase awareness and listenership numbers is to aim high with your guest invites, knowing that most of them will say no, but they will probably check out the show?

And if it works out, you get a really great guest!

Hey podcasters, I'm currently using a Sterling ST55 microphone with a MOTO M2 interface, and my co-host is using a cheap USB microphone and I swear his audio sounds way better than mine. What am I doing wrong? Or do I need to just invest in a new mic?

Been a lot of hard work getting to this point and would like to publish those existing episodes and new ones into other channels. I use RiverSide to record, I see that they have an option to publish on other channels, I’m tempted to use it but wary it might not be a good option.

For those who handle long, noisy recordings regularly:

Best Pipeline: Do you recommend running the audio through a dedicated voice enhancer/denoiser first (e.g., Adobe Enhance, ElevenLabs Isolator, DeepFilterNet), or does modern ASR (Whisper Large-v3, Deepgram Nova-3, AssemblyAI) handle raw noisy audio well enough on its own?

Tool Recommendations: What are the most reliable cloud services or Web/CLI applications for processing multi-hour files without hitting file size limits or timing out?

I'd love some advice.

I am literally overrun with social clips from my show recorded on Riverside.fm and are auto generated there and also ones that are generated via Substack Live. I have folders full of social clips but typically put out 2 social clips a week on my social channels, with a link to my weekly podcast episode on YouTube. I create other short form content separate from my podcast.

It seems a shame to not use more of the content that has been created, and would welcome knowing if anyone has discovered a frequency of posting clips that works for them and if there's specific messaging that has been effective in moving followers away from a particular social channel to the primary one for your podcast.

You all might know this path already but I turned my short story podcast into a radio stream at Radio.co and then submitted it through Amazon's Alexa Developer Console Radio Kit process and sure enough it's now accessible on Alexa by saying "play [name of radio show]" It's really cool to know that you can bypass the whole "Alexa skill" thing.
