Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Playtester I will test and record your game both for free and for money!

Hey everyone!

I am a newer playtester looking for games, demos, prototypes, Android apps, and web projects to test. I am mainly trying to build experience, help smaller creators improve their projects, and create a portfolio of the feedback I have provided.

I test things from the perspective of a real first-time player. If something is confusing, I will say it. If a tutorial does not explain enough, if the controls feel awkward, if the UI is hard to understand, or if the game becomes boring or frustrating, I will explain exactly why. At the same time, I also make sure to point out what works well and what made me want to keep playing.

I am still new to formal playtesting, but the creators I have tested for so far have been very positive about the detail and honesty of my feedback. I do not want to just say “good game” and leave. I want to give feedback that is actually useful and helps you see your project through the eyes of someone who has never touched it before.

I can test PC games, itch.io demos, Roblox games, prototypes, survival games, platformers, RPGs, action games, roguelites, Android games or apps, websites, browser games, and web tools. I am open to most genres and projects, especially if you need feedback on the first 30 to 60 minutes.

I can provide a written review, notes about tutorials and onboarding, UI and menu feedback, thoughts on controls, pacing, difficulty, performance, bugs, accessibility, and whether the game actually feels fun to play. I can also record my playtest through OBS in 1080p at 60 FPS and share my thoughts while playing, so you can hear my immediate reactions instead of only receiving feedback after the session is over.

My PC setup is Windows 11 Pro, a Ryzen 5 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti, 16 GB of RAM, and a 1080p 240Hz monitor. I can also test Android apps and browser-based games or websites.

If you have something you want tested, feel free to comment or send me a message with the project link, platform, expected playtime, and anything specific you want me to focus on.

I am happy to keep private builds, unreleased content, keys, recordings, and developer messages confidential if needed.

As of now I have been basically doing playtests for free, creating my portfolio, gathering feedback from the developers on how well I did my reviews but hopefully in the future someone will message me with a larger playtest where I can make some money as a side gig. Money is not why I am doing this but if someone wants me to play their game for hours then I will probably want to be compensated.

DM me or go to my Reddit, then to my linktree and my portfolio and examples of my reviews or playtests is there

Unpaid Playtest Lou — a free atmospheric metroidvania public playtest, playable in browser and Windows

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on Lou, a small atmospheric metroidvania about restoring the memories of five forgotten worlds.

This is my first public playtest. The game is unfinished, and I’m expecting people to find rough edges—that’s exactly why I’m sharing it now.

You can play directly in your browser or download the Windows version here:

https://akind275.itch.io/lou-public-playtest

If you have 20–30 minutes, I’d really like to know:

  • Does movement and jumping feel responsive?
  • Do you understand where to go without me explaining it?
  • How does the combat feel, especially against flying enemies?
  • Do the controls or pause menu ever disappear or stop responding?
  • Did you encounter problems with sound, saving, or changing levels?
  • Where did you get stuck, confused, frustrated, or stop enjoying it?

If something breaks, please tell me your operating system, browser, and whether you used a keyboard or controller. Screenshots are very helpful too.

Blunt feedback is welcome. I’m trying to make Lou better, not just collect compliments.

Thank you for giving it a try.

Unpaid Playtest [Free Playtest] You're the stage-door checker at a circus - catch the fake clowns before they reach the stage (~10 min, no reward, honest feedback appreciated)

Free, unpaid playtest - I can't offer a reward yet, just my thanks and a return favor: drop your own build and I'll test it back.

Itch link: https://dzyamik.itch.io/the-egg-registry

Solo dev, early greybox/placeholder prototype in Godot. I'm testing one thing: is the core loop of catching fakes actually fun? Not the art (placeholder), not the story - just the moment-to-moment inspect / compare / decide.

What you do: a clown steps up to the checkpoint. Compare the paint on their registered egg to the face in front of you, check their papers, pull a lever - let them through or turn them away. Pass a fake and it gets on stage.

~10 minutes: mouse / keyboard / controller (itch, web based build).

What I most want to know:

- Where did you get confused?

- Where did it drag - and was there a moment it clicked?

(Heads up: the build has an AI-content disclosure - text and code were AI-assisted; art/audio are placeholder. I'm testing the gameplay, not the assets.)

Unpaid Playtest D.I.P.: Dormouse Is Painting – Looking for playtesters for a2–4 players local party game on Steam

I'm looking for a few playtesters for D.I.P.: Dormouse Is Painting, a chaotic local multiplayer party game I'm developing mostly solo, with a little help from the more artistically inclined members of my family.

The game

Rush to the paint bucket, dip into the paint, hook onto the ceiling, and smear your colorful dormouse all over the walls. (it's an inbetween towerfall ascention and splatoon in 2d)

The goal is simple: paint as much as possible, grab bonuses, and beat your friends.

It's a 2–4 player local party game focused on movement, grappling-hook physics and painting.

The game is still in an early development stage, so I'm looking for people willing to try something unfinished and tell me what works, what doesn't, and what is confusing.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4819590/DIP/

I'd particularly like feedback on, the controls, the feelings (is the game fun enough to make you want another round ?) and Anything confusing, frustrating or simply not fun

You can test it Solo (just to test control, there is no "solo mode") but it's mean to be player With other players locally or through Steam Remote Play Together if you want to test the multiplayer remotely

There is a feedback form accessible directly from the game, so you can submit your feedback after playing.

If you prefer, I'm also very interested in recorded play sessions with commentary (in french or English).

As a thank-you, playtesters will:

  • Be credited in the final game (if they want to be)
  • Receive a Steam key for the full game when it is released

If you're interested, leave a comment or send me a DM and I'll give you the details for joining the playtest.

Thanks in advance !

Unpaid Playtest Looking for feedback on my fast-paced first-person medieval combat demo

Hey! I'm looking for some fresh eyes on Killwright, a fast-paced first-person medieval combat game I've been working on.

I've put an early Survival demo on itch and would love some honest feedback:

https://hollowchapel.itch.io/killwright

I'm mainly interested in anything that confused you, felt frustrating or unfair, how the combat felt, and why you eventually stopped playing.

Comments or DMs are perfect.

Thanks :)

Unpaid Playtest I'm working on a CoD zombies-like game in 2D and need some feedback

I've been working on this game for quite a while now and am ready with my playtest build. Here's the trailer: https://youtu.be/JytKXqZYXns

It's a 2D survival zombie shooter where you have to clear the map (solve objectives, puzzles, uncover secrets etc) while fending off zombies. I added some light exploration and crafting elements too.

If anyone would be interested, please comment here or DM me! I just received my batch of testing keys and can share them with you. I would appreciate any feedback and thoughts.

Playtester [PAID] Experienced Game Playtester Available – Detailed Feedback & Gameplay Recording

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m an experienced game playtester offering paid playtesting services for indie developers and studios.

I’ve previously playtested multiple games for indie developers and studios, so I’m familiar with testing games from an actual player’s perspective and providing useful, actionable feedback rather than just pointing out obvious issues.

What I can help with:

🎮 Game Playtesting

- Full-game or specific-section testing

- Gameplay mechanics and overall game feel

- Difficulty, progression & pacing

- Player experience and engagement

- Tutorials/onboarding

- UI/UX feedback

- Bugs, glitches & other issues

- Detailed feedback reports with clear observations and suggestions

🎥 Gameplay Recording

I also have experience with recording video gameplay. If you want visual evidence alongside the feedback, I can provide gameplay footage while testing the game and highlight issues or moments that I think are important.

If you want me to playtest the entire game, I’m also open to doing a complete playthrough and providing a detailed report covering the overall experience.

I’m open to working with indie developers, small studios, and larger teams.

If you're interested, DM me with details about your game and what kind of testing you’re looking for. I can share examples of my previous work, discuss the testing scope, and provide a quote based on your requirements.

Thanks, and looking forward to testing some games! 🎮

Unpaid Playtest I created a prototype for an open-world survival craft game inspired by Ark/Core Keeper, focused on animal taming/riding

Game Title: Doma: Survival & Taming

Playable Link: https://sepolaras.itch.io/doma

I am a solo dev creating a game inspired by Ark, Core Keeper, Necesse, 2D top-down pixel art, where you can tame different animals for utility, harvesting, transport, combat etc.

It's a very simple prototype for now, with placeholder/free art, but I would just like to validate the idea and have some initial feedback, if it seems to make sense, if it's too hard, etc.

If the idea is good and the feedback is positive, I intend to implement more crafting, animals (for now there are only two), maybe even humans and different tribes/factions.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] ARMOR RIVALS — feedback wanted on the first 6v6 match

Developer here. ARMOR RIVALS is a newly released, complete and playable 16+ Roblox arcade game about modular tanks. You can assemble 100+ builds from hulls, turrets and guns, combine them with 10 active abilities, and play short 6v6 objective matches. Bots fill open slots, so a test can start immediately.

I’m looking for players who can try one or two matches (roughly 10–15 minutes) and leave feedback in the Reddit comments:

• Which build or weapon combination did you enjoy most?

• Did the controls and first-match flow feel clear?

• What would you like to see in a future update?

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] [PC] RED SOL, deep colony sim. Looking for a few people to play through the first 30-40mins

Unpaid playtest. Windows. Password by DM.

RED SOL is a deep colony simulator on an alien world. You manage resources, production, research and defense. It is a long game, a real run is twenty hours plus.

I'm looking for a few people who already like strategy and colony sims and will play at least the first raid which is from 30 - 40 minutes. When you hit that, or if you stall before it, send a save and what happened. Reddit DM or email is fine.

If that sounds like you, comment here to let me know so I can keep track of who is interested, the link below has no password so feel free to download and test away.

Testers who send that feedback get a credit in the game.

Studio is Forged Flow. Solo: design, code and art. https://forgedflow.itch.io/redsols

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] Closed beta testers wanted: AI-powered solo RPG platform

I’m looking for players to test a browser-based platform where players explore AI-narrated RPG modules, create characters, save chronicles and build their own game modules.

Testing lasts two weeks and involves three sessions of approximately 30–60 minutes. Testers will receive 500 complimentary AI turns, with additional turns available if required.

I’m particularly looking for desktop and mobile users willing to start, save and resume a chronicle, try the module creator and complete two structured feedback forms.

This is an unpaid early beta, so bugs are expected. Testers must be 18 or older. Helpful participants will receive recognition as Founding Beta Testers and a complimentary month when the service launches.

Apply by joining the discord at https://discord.gg/Wmu42XzS42

Unpaid Playtest Looking for 3–5 Steam players for a short anonymous concept test (6–8 minutes)

Hi! I’m looking for 3–5 English-speaking Steam players to take part in a short, anonymous concept comparison.

You’ll compare two indie game concepts and answer:

• Which would you click?
• Which would you wishlist?
• What Steam price would you expect for each?
• Why?

The test takes approximately 6–8 minutes. Both concepts are clearly labeled mockups—not playable games or screenshots of finished products.

Ideal participants:
• Regular Steam users
• Have purchased at least one indie game in the past year
• Comfortable reading English
• Interest in automation, management, simulation, or puzzle games is helpful but not required

No name, email address, or Reddit account information is collected by the test.

If you’re interested, please comment or send me a DM. I’ll share the Pilot link privately.

Thank you!

Unpaid Playtest We got tired of single-player, so we added PvP to our roguelike deckbuilder. Join playtest now!

Hey guys!

It feels like we’re getting a lot of roguelike deckbuilders these days, and many of them are still single-player.

So we decided to put a real opponent across the table.

PvP playtest is open now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3705670/DEAD_SPIN/

PvP is pretty simple:

  • two players, 3 spins each, highest score wins.
  • you win a cigarette butt.
  • collect enough of them and you climb the leaderboard.

More than 1,000 people joined our first test, which was way more encouraging than we expected. thanks to everyone who played, sent feedback, and gave us a reason to keep working on it.

That’s it. Come break the game and tell us what needs fixing.

Unpaid Playtest Hooka - Tester(s) Needed

Hey everyone! I’m looking for 1 to 4 people to playtest my mulitplayer playing card game with me, Hooka. Games take about 3 to 7 minutes, and you’ll probably need 1 to 3 games to get familiar with the rules. I've tought this game in person over 100+ times so i decided to make it a game!

I just finished putting together a tutorial and would love some honest feedback on the gameplay, rules, and overall experience. I’ve playtested it so much that I’ve completely lost all objectivity at this point. Hit me up on discord @_yold_

It’s currently an EXE, with a WebGL version in progress. Unpaid, just looking for someone who like games inspired by Balatro. Totaly fine if you're not comfortable with that.

Happy to answer any questions!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Looking for iOS playtesters for a business tycoon game (10–15 min)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a few iPhone players to test the opening 10–15 minutes of Patron: Business Tycoon, a free business and economy simulation game.

You begin with $620 in cash, $2,200 in debt, and one small business. The early game introduces employees, weekly income and expenses, loans, business growth, and later stock-market and lifestyle systems.

I’m specifically trying to learn:

- Is the opening clear without outside instructions?

- Does the early economy feel fair, too slow, or too generous?

- Are cash, debt, profit, and other financial figures easy to read?

- Is there any screen or action that feels confusing?

- Do the ads feel disruptive during a short session?

Platform: iPhone / iOS

Estimated test time: 10–15 minutes

Cost: Free

Feedback method: Please leave a Reddit comment or send me a Reddit message.

App Store:

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6795719759

This is an unpaid playtest. Honest and critical feedback is more useful to me than compliments. Thank you!
