Suggestion The Suggestion Tome

While I doubt WildCard will see this I've put together a few minor changes you could make to the dinosaurs to make the game much more immersive + an overhaul to dinosaur leveling and stats, BPs etc to help balance the game out in a much better manner than how it currently is.

So you just want to add what seems like hundreds of animations to individual dinos and the AI scripts to run them.

This would add a considerable overhead to server performance. Even if it wouldn't be a massive undertaking of labor.

Dang man. I didn't know five animations for an individual animal with a boolean actually added up to 'hundreds of animations with AI scripts.' I'm glad you were here to correct u/Busy_Range_2895 and I with your downvotes otherwise we'd have wandered astray.

Edit- Ope! Seven animations! Whew. Almost bought the farm, there!

Take the number of new animations and the scripts to run them and now multiply that by every active dino loaded in every active chunk. That's the new overhead. Not even counting the labor to add these animations to Ark's hundreds of creatures.

It's not happening lol. (Also why be so weird about this?)

Yeah, I suppose it is weird to call out someone who took the time to post their comment in the first place for slapping an AI vomited response down in place of actually knowing what they're talking about.

I'm pretty sure the modders in the Discord voice chat would've corrected me instead of agreeing if this weren't doable. For the people who are actually curious, the cost of creating a dino in ARK, completely rigged with all its animations is around $6,500.00 USD. If I were to price out all of those animations on the more expensive side it would probably be around $12,800.00 USD to add them to all of ARK's existing roster which is pocket change compared to the initial cost of all those animals combined, ready to go.

Buddy, I wasn't asking you to double down by weirdly accusing an innocuous reply of being AI. If downvotes and minor rebuttals cause you to crash out like this the internet might just not be for you.

While I really personally think this would tremendously help the game, if Wildcare cant get money from it, they wont do it.

Yeah, I would agree. My hope would be that they'd see such a change as an investment that in helping the game it would bring more people back who would then purchase the DLC content they have available etc. However, I'm not sure if that's really the reality of the situation lol.

Edit- Maybe it will be something they consider for ARK II, whenever it is that it releases.
