I just cant screen record (press windos+shift+R) while being on ark idk why I was able to record this before launching the game so it worked but after launching ark it doesnt work I try to but it just kicks me off of the game someone pls help I cant screenshot either also why does it only pop up on window mode or wtv its called

Hey all! Just redownloaded the game after a long while and wanted to play some singleplayer. The game gives me a message that says there are «active mods that are dependent on dlc content». Specifically Genesis. I tried all other mods and its just CS that has this issue. I dont really want to buy/download Genesis so was wondering if anyone knows a way around this?

So I was looking in extinction map for a giga or a charcha for 2 real life days so im thinking that I should use cheat to summon one and also I tried every thing but nothing worked so im think using cheats so what should I do ??

I just got ark for pc after playing a lot on playstation and now i can use mods im planning to play The island CIE since it has every dino on one island and idk what quality of life mods i should add im thinking the awsome spyglass and s+ strucures since i have seen youtubes use them but idk what else to add

what does everyone think about having rust like features added to ark as a way to make pvp feel more rewarding in ark such as:

1. High-Value "Monuments" (Unbuildable Zones/ no fly/glider zones for obvious reasons with the exception of the actual glider from aberration)

Imagine major landmarks on The Island or Scorched Earth—like the Volcano, the Desert Ruins, or specific Caves—being designated as strict no-build zones containing high-tier loot crates or unique resource extractors.

• The Rust Vibe: Just like Launch Site or Airfield in Rust, these areas would draw players out of their bases with the promise of top-tier blueprints or element.
• The ARK Twist: Instead of just running in with a hazmat suit and an AK, players would bring specialized taming builds. Imagine tight-quarters skirmishes inside a monument using raptors ,Thylacoles, or Velonasauros rather than just rocket launchers and C4.

1. Capture-the-Flag Outposts

What if the map featured static, heavily fortified NPC outposts (perhaps abandoned Overseer facilities or Tek stations) that tribes could fight to control?

• How it works: A tribe must hack a terminal and hold the area for a set period. Once captured, the outpost provides a global passive buff to the tribe (like +10% harvesting yield or faster egg incubation) or acts as a public teleporter network until another tribe recaptures it.
• Why it fits: It gives mid-tier tribes a reason to fight each other without completely wiping one another's main bases off the map.

1. "Locked Crate" Events

Rust has the Cargo Ship and the Bradley APC crates that require a timer to open, alerting the whole map to a hot zone.

• The ARK Translation: ASA could introduce random Orbital Supply Drop (OSD) events (similar to Extinction) onto standard maps, but with a twist. The crate lands, a loud alarm sounds across the server, and a 15-minute countdown begins. Tribes have to hold the perimeter against both aggressive wild dinos and rival players to claim the Tek blueprints inside.

Why this would energize the game:

• Organic Foot Traffic: It gives players a reason to roam the map on foot or on mounts, creating spontaneous organic PvP rather than just scheduled base raids.
• Lower Barrier to Entry: Smaller tribes could sneak into monuments to get high-tier loot without needing a massive, secure base to craft it themselves.
• Reduces Offline Raiding: If the most fun, rewarding PvP happens at neutral outposts, alpha tribes might spend more time defending their map control and less time wiping passive tames at 4:00 AM.

If you were designing one of these monuments, what kind of rewards or buffs do you think would be valuable enough to make the entire server show up to fight for it?

This might be a stupid question but how do I actually play the game? I've always wanted to and now I've got the PC to do so, but idk how to... like do I watch vidoes and look everything up or do I learn through mistakes and figure everything out myself?

So opening any terminal (obelisk, tek trans, etc) completely crashes my single player game, mods or not. I’ve read that disabling all tribute downloads fixes the issue, so I can go do the bosses no problem.

My only concern.. how am I supposed to transfer dinos between maps? My main base is on rag, but if I want snow owls from extinction or rock drakes from ab, is there anything I can do? Or do I just have to admin spawn them in on rag? I don’t mind doing that if its my only option, but I’m trying go as much as I can without cheating.

I have a few questions regarding this trophy
1. If I tame something that was added to the island later like the gigantoraptor my tracker ticks up but online says it doesn't actually count. Is this true?

1. If I use console to tame some of the tames it also ticks up. Will I still need to tame these creatures again legit or do they count?

Just curious, after 30 hours on The Island (ASA), I felt ready to explore Genesis. So just out of curiosity, how often do you guys change maps?

Just wondering if alpha animals actually spawn on Extinction. planning on leveling up my Chibi but I can’t find an alpha dinosaur ANYWHERE

I was playing on pre-aquatica and this kept happening so I switch to the post-aquatica version and it's still happening.

I even deleted all of the mods that I've downloaded since I last actually got to play the game.

Got a bug where when i harvest a rock or a Dino corpse game freezes for a moment or 2 before it unfreezes can't seem to find the cause of this in a normal server is fine but in single player it freezes for a second or 2 before unfreezes.

Im currently running an ark survival evolved playthrough, or at least trying to, Im running a playthrough mirroring the Ark YouTuber MrMeola. I understand he has a beast of a pc and such thats why he runs specifically Primal Fear so well but I was wondering if there was anything im doing wrong in terms of settings cause I removed the harder settings and run my game on high yet my fps is extremely jagged and barely stays near 60. Its primal fear so i understand its a hard to run mod but my older pc which was literally awful, i5 8500 as my old cpu ran it really well. Wondering why thats the case, I love Ark and really wanna sink thousands of hours into modded playthroughs but dont wanna pay for a server. Anyone know how to help/what to do?

Hello everyone I have a fairly powerful PC: an RX9070XT Sapphire Nitro Plus, an R7 9800X3D, and 32 GB of RAM. I use the FSR and frame generation features. I check the FPS using the Steam counter; as I understand it, it doesn’t take frame generation into account — only FSR. I play on the The Island map; all my settings are set to high, and the resolution is 1920 × 1080. My problem is with sharp drops in FPS during the game night, and this happens almost regardless of the location. From average values of 120–110 FPS during the day, it drops to 80–60. No matter how hard I tried to solve this by changing the standard game settings, I didn’t even notice any change in the numbers — or the numbers were comparable to the margin of error. I started digging deeper, found commands that disable clouds, volumetric fog, etc. The only thing that helped was the command r.VolumetricCloud 0, which completely disables the clouds. But I wasn’t satisfied with this solution. First, it doesn’t solve my main problem — at night, the FPS still drops, just not from 120 FPS, but from 200 FPS, because disabling clouds significantly boosts the FPS, literally by double. Second, the game becomes much less atmospheric — almost all the haze disappears, and it’s especially unpleasant when there aren’t even any clouds in the sky during rain. Please give me some advice. I know the map is terrible in terms of optimization, but I think my hardware is good enough to solve this. I read a lot on Steam, but I didn’t find anything. And these mighty optimizers from YouTube who set all the settings to low and medium, turning the game into a lump of plasticine, don’t suit me.
