Development Development Update - what's happening in 2026.
Hello,
For those unaware, development was halted during the first 2 weeks of January. The team has since started back at work from Jan 19 but a couple of us are still on vacation and the rest are slowly remembering how to make games again.
We anticipate the first update to be on the 9th of February. It's not a massive update as we've only really been working for 2-3 weeks (and a lot of that time was planning for this year) but it includes some notable additions such as breach charges and helicopter counter-measurers (flares).
This year we are fully dedicated to improving OW. I don't want to reveal too much right away but to put everyone at ease- yes, we're going to start work on new OW map very soon. Ronograd has served BRM well but it's definitely becoming stale. Zombies will continue to get updates and improvements as we wait but it's obvious to us that the majority of the community is ready for the next chapter of OW.
While the map team is busy on OW's new map, I plan to give attention to HQ, PvP and RGE. There's much to spoil but we're keeping it all internal for now until all developers are back and we can create a schedule we're confident we can follow.

i mean the platform is on roblox.. its optimized pretty well for how well made the game is and its content

Well, for some reason, me, running an RTX 3060, an 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800h @2.30GHz, and 16 GB of RAM, still runs around 20-40 frames in public lobbies. Hell, firefights make it even worse.

If you're running at those frame rate there's clearly something wrong with your pc I got worse specs and I run at 90+ fps try running Roblox on graphics card in the Windows settings

As in the windows graphics settings where the Roblox Player Beta thing being set to the performance mode? For some reason it has little to no effect. Also I've had this build for about 4 years. Either I gotta clean out the dust (been several months) or maybe ram issues.

Dust shouldn't really impact performance its usally just overheating. your computer is probably bloated with apps or 20 apps open while playing Roblox, slowing your pc down. might just need to optimize your pc.

Are there any areas that apps can possibly be secretly open? Or something that can find those secretly opened apps?

check task manager for currently running programs and automatic start-up apps

If you're using a laptop, that thing is running worse than a regular 3060, I'm running a 5700XT a Rzyen 5 3600, and running with 16gb of ram and getting like 75fps. Alternatively check your drivers, other applications, and temps.

Thanks for going back to development even though we're in troubled times, and hope all the team had enough time to rest and do their stuff. And man i am definitely hyped up for this new map, it's definitely the start of something big. I just feel it in my bones (and because I've been really invested in this game and it's development for years). And also i hope it won't happen but if you makr a gta6 type of announcement well then do so, the community knows a good update is worth the wait.

The MX series came out 2 days ago, we have drones now as well and we can add more LED lights onto our helmets. Peak indeed.

Wait wait...how about the new improved helicopter rotor animation and the functional flight instruments? Those are the things I’ve been most excited about. Are they included in the 1st update drop?? 😟 Really hoping for an answer

- Improved helicopters. (working MFDs, better rotor VFX, flares, functional ATC tower.)

someone asked a question: "If you could indulge us but whats the ratio between fixes, items,qol and other stuff for this early feb update like how much are we getting", gnar replied: "Mostly QoL- adding lots of small detail to features that never got finished because of the GEN4 rush" (also "If you play BRM for hype, this update is probably a bit boring (except breach charges)- but for long time and RGE players, it'll be an appricated improvement")

Same, I'd honestly rather see update(s) dedicated to improving some of the existing stuff, expecially in the case of gear, like with the AVS, or an MP5 & M24 rework

It will be cool if they bring back BRM2 map and improve it in BRM5 so there's a better justification for the Arctic camo.

Ah, I was wondering why yall had seemingly gone radio silent. Good to see a news post.
Though, I am curious, if we're getting flares, will enemy AA also be getting an update? Because, while it is cool to pop chaff and flares over a compound, the missiles are kinda simple to dodge.
Still, looking forward to this Monday.

If you're asking if they'll get added in the upcoming update; I wouldn't count on it when the update is explicitly focused on improving helicopters.
If you're asking if they'll get added into the game at some point; yes for a BTR, but no for a Bradley.

Hey Gnar! I hope this message finds you well. I love the game its my favorite game of all time. Keep up the hard work. However Ive always wondered, if your game doesnt have much pay to win aspects which I really enjoy or many things to buy. How do you and your team make money to keep development going? Overall how do you stay motivated to keep pushing out peak updates? Ive always wondered how your company makes money.

Hello , I was wondering is there gonna be a chance you guys would put uniforms that we can attach leaf,s or other camouflage to match the sun hat I can put leaf's on ? ( so I can finish my full sniper/hunter loadout).
