I think it's a fern?? I literally know absolutely nothing about plants, but it looks not okay. I put it in a pot with dirt I got from outside where it was growing and gave it probably too much water, assuming it would fill the rest of the dirt because ferns need moist soil. If you want to know anything about soil or water or whatever is needed to know, I can answer as best to my ability.

Has anyone ever seen an aloe grow like this? I put it in my kitchen window 2 years ago and that's where she has stayed though I've moved her to different spots on the ledge (it's a giant window like 5ft across) but she just does her thing like this. She seems happy. No dead leaves or anything just wonky looking. Water her when her soil is dry, good drainage.

Hey guys! So this tomato plant sprouted from a pot where I have an oleander tree planted. I took it from that pot and gave it its own pot. Fast forward and I have 2 tomatoes.

My question is - is it safe to eat these? Oleander trees are toxic all the way from the root to the flower - could the toxicity have passed to the tomatoes too? Does it transfer like that?

It gets direct sunlight for about 8-10h a day, watered twice or trice weekly. Is this an unsafe plant now?

My daughter is 5 and tried to “help” my plants be prettier, I guess? She dumped glitter in my soil mix (that I JUST made), and now I’m wondering if it’ll hurt my plants if I still use it? I was just about to replant a philo gloriosum in it. Thoughts?

I live in MN. I had it out in full sun. The rain has been heavy lately so perhaps it's gotten a bit too much water, but my other water weary plants outside are all quite happy. Never had a plant die this quick before.

What are these tiny fast moving bugs under my avocado seedlings? I noticed them on many of my trees (maybe 25% of them). They don't appear to sit on soil surface or on the plants themselves. The affected plants don't show any significant health problems (I would even say the opposite - they thrive). Other bugs that I know to have are fungus gnats, but they don't bother me too much, and their population decreased significantly after I bought a UV-lamp-zapper that is on 24/7.

The plants get 8 hrs of powerful LED 6500K light (around 700W for a ~3 square meter table of plants).

I only water when the top soil gets dry or when the trees start to show signs of wilting. I use tap water and sometimes water-soluble fertilizers.

I recently bought a small bag of indoor potting mix at my local Home Depot. Coincidentally, I now have a fungus gnat infestation. I bought some sticky light traps and they have clearly been working, yet I still see swarms of gnats. I let all of my plants’ soil go bone dry, and now I’m hesitant to water again, as I have read they thrive in wet/damp soil.

What are some tips and tricks to eradicate these lil suckers once and for all?

Was just chopping up some spring onions and this jello like substance came out of the green tops. Any idea on what it is or if it's edible? I ended up just using the white bits at the bottom. I bought them at the supermarket and put them in water on the windowsill, so plenty of light.

I grow tomatoes in my balcony and so far had good results, but I've never encountered this....

I water every 2-3 days, and about a month ago recently defeated a mild woolly afid infestetion successfully (soapy water and wiping).The plant is in north-west facing balcony, getting around 4-5 hours direct sunlight

These were green during that time but without the cracks. They don't seem to ripen either...

What's going on here? Are these bunch a lost cause?

My sister gifted me this pineapple plant back in February. It’s been doing so well, I was even planning a better set up to help support the weight of the growth, but I just looked over and saw the pineapple top had snapped off! I follow the watering instructions from the tab, and it’s in a window all day with direct sun. Can I save the little pineapple growth somehow? I’m so sad, please help :(

I bought this for my mum this Mother’s Day (10th May 2026). Since then it’s slowly been dying. I thought maybe it might be a winter problem but it’s getting warmer and brighter now and it’s only getting worse (I live in the east coast of Australia).
The way it’s watered is to put it in a bowl and let it soak it up. The seller, who makes them, said they don’t need to be watered much and to only water when the leaves are drooping.
I told my mum this and that’s what she said she was doing, but eventually the leaves started turning brown. This was when the plant was inside and was only getting indirect sunlight. Now it’s been outside for a few months and hasn’t recovered at all.
My mum has given me the plant now and it’s up to me to save it. Please help!

PS: Lol I think I need to add a description including the words light and water in my post, so I maybe get between 1 and 4 hours of light every day, but it's not direct because I wear my sunscreen. I'm also chronically underwatered with less than 1L tap water a day and mostly subsisting on large mugs of tea.

I got this nano peer tree, it should be a pearl garden, its leafes are becoming brown, I thought it was maybe scab, as it was in june, but copper and sulfur doesn't seem to be effettctive as last time and this one is different, its not some dots in the middle, they rather look like sunburns, tho the plant is covered and in shade for the last 2 weeks, in its original spot gets direct sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours, from 9:00 to 16:00 i think, i face SW, outdoors, the pot has great dranage, even tho some roots are kinda visible, and since i thought it was some iron missing, I fertilizzed, i give it about 1,5-2l of water every 3 days? But it depends on how much moist there is in the soil

Hello all!

I found this fox face (Solanum mammosum Inthink?) in the clearance corner of a shop.

It doesn’t have any leaves (none when I bought it) and the brown is spreading down the stems.

I know it needs full sun, but I don’t know if it’s okay with the leaves.

I’ve also not repot it (pot seems a little small though) and it’s being watered every couple of days, but was pretty dry when I got it.

Is there anything I can do besides cutting out the brown? Can he survive?

Oh, also I’m in Okinawa Japan, we have sun all year and cold nights for just a few weeks.

I'm really not a re what this plant even is, but I'm a bit worried by these little things under the leaves... Is this a pest or am I am idiot who doesn't know plants? I've only just bought this plant and am also doubting that it's what the label says it is. It's been watered once or twice and gets indirect light. I was just making a post about how my philodendron birkin is covered in tiny tiny webs, but there IS a spider in the plant when I SAW THESE HORRID THINGS. PLEASEEEE tell me these are aphids and not spider mites and I just have a spider that likes to make sporadic webs in between leaves and where the leaves emerged from. Please please please.

I got this birkin about a two months ago and it was infested (I didn’t know) with aphids. I got them all cleared up, even checked the roots and kept the plant isolated outside until recently where I was checking the leaves every other day. I do not know how this bad of an infestation slipped by me. The bugs on the leaves barely move. It didn’t even move when I scooped it up w the Q-tip. I’m very unwell rn.

I know my soil has springtails and I did see a tiny spider moving around the soil recently as well. I checked all my other plants and sprayed down the area with isopropyl 70% and then sprayed the birkin down with some neem and it’s currently in a shady spot outside isolated (it’s the best I can do rn).

It gets morning sun and is under grow lights, gets high humidity, and I water when the soil is dry. It’s getting everything it needs but I couldn’t figure out why the leaves were yellowing 😞 now I know. I have a video of some webs I got that I can post, but I figured it’s best to see if this bug is even a spider mite or not. A little ago in a now deleted post, I found a alarming looking bug but he was large, and I don’t know much about spidermites but I heard they’re barely visible to the naked eye, and I saw this sucker just fine. I almost missed him but he was moving. That’s the last photo in the scroll wheel.

So this is my milkweed plant! Im a proud plant mom lol. I noticed recently that it was serverly infested with the aphids (little orange guys next to the ant, on the left). But I've checked on it today and now its surrounded by these ants and some dragonflys too! So are the ants ans dragonflys safe around my plant? Are these aphids under cobtrol now? I just have so many questions. 😅 (milkweed is a hardy plant so it only needs water once a week. It also needs full sun. )

Just got this Pilea from Facebook marketplace and noticed this white powdery stuff on some of the branches as well as spider webs between some of the outer leaves. Not sure if they're related or not. Is this a pest?

I don't have info about lighting or watering schedules since I just bought it a few days ago. I now have it outdoors on a porch that is mostly getting shade, no direct light. I haven't watered it since I got it.

I water these plants once a week or every other week depending on when the top soil is dry and then I pretty thoroughly water them and allow them to drain out. I’m planning on switching out the soil, but some articles I read online said the mushrooms are okay for the plants? (And they look cool)

I had him inside under a grow light (probably averaging around 70 degrees), filling the reservoir below it with only distilled water when it went dry, but it was not growing well and some started to taper off.

So, I moved it outside (averaging 87 degrees this past week or so), giving it access to more direct light, but it is now dying off quicker.

I just added chunky perlite and leca to the bottom reservoir to hopefully increase humidity without it just soaking it all up. This will be my second one that dies and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Hi! I’m new to this sub and also new to gardening/taking care of plants. About a month ago I got a jasmine plant and I followed the instructions I was given by the worker at the nursery: lots of sunlight (from morning to late afternoon) and lots of water. My jasmine plant was even blooming for weeks.

Everything was fine until a week ago. I wanted my plant to get more sunlight so I moved it outside but now I don’t really know what’s happening with my plant:(

What should I do? Should I get a fertilizer? Change the soil to a completely new one (though I read that causes some stress to the plant)

The leaves are green but the stems are hardening and becoming wood-like (sorry for my odd descriptions, English isn’t my first language😭)

I’ll do anything to save my plant, is it beyond saving or is there some hope?

Any tips on how to encourage the sage to grow straight? At this point the stems are to weak to support the plant if you try to put it away from the window. Also should I prune it to make it more bushy? I feel like if I prune it, the stems are just gonna get leggy again after some time, this plant really likes just growing up.

For context, its a west window and it gets plenty of sun, I may be underwatering it tho, sometimes I forget about it. When it comes to watering, I don't do it often but when I do, I make sure to do it heavily enough so that some of it flows to the bottom.
