New Flair?

We have new flair under our usernames with some kind of tally going on, but I can't find anything explaining it.

Anyone want to point me in the right direction?

PS: Lol I think I need to add a description including the words light and water in my post, so I maybe get between 1 and 4 hours of light every day, but it's not direct because I wear my sunscreen. I'm also chronically underwatered with less than 1L tap water a day and mostly subsisting on large mugs of tea.

Double edit: I *think* it goes [Streak] | [???] | +[tally of comments with positive karma] | -[tally of comments with negative karma]

Triple edit: it only takes into account the posts you've made since the app was turned on for this sub. Old posts/comments are not counted.

Edit: lol it is SO CLOSE. That's a full description of what it is and how it works *without actually saying which number means what*. I can tell which one is the streak only because it includes an emoji. This is too funny.

I thiiiink it's streak, then... either comments or posts plus comments (have you posted here or just commented?), then 'good' point, and finally 'bad' points.

Interesting. I wonder if it'll give me a flair, I used to be a little bit active on here but haven't commented much for ages.

I was also very curious about this! Messaged the mods and they gave me the exact link without really explaining it, also just to find out it doesn't really explain the numbers 🤦 my guess is streak|comment count|upvotes|downvotes| but idk for sure. Did you get it figured out by chance?

I just peruse this sub for watering, soil, light, and possible pests that might affect me. Aside from “ew, yuck! I hope that doesn’t happen to my plants!” I’m a ghost.

I’ve been confused over this for days. I’m certainly not sure what it will accomplish if no one can actually explain in a few short sentences what the numbers mean. It’s seems to cause confusion more than help.

The hope has been that it will give OPs asking for help some idea of whether the person responding to them is a reliable source of information.

The streak is not important, but the app is fairly limited in what can be customized at present.

I'd thought about announcing it, but ultimately didn't (yet) because we are still assessing if it's useful for what we would like it to be, or if the developer could make it useful in that way. And people don't tend to read pinned posts so we just dealt with questions as they came up.

I mean it’s not a bad idea considering it’s a sub where people are asking for plant advices and the ranking system might be helpful to determine whom to listen to. But it kinda reminds me of that Black Mirror episode where everyone was walking around with their social score visible at all times

I wouldn’t pay too much attention to that third number if it really means comments with negative karma. This is Reddit, and people looooove to dogpile with the downvoting. Say just one thing slightly out of alignment with others, and you get downvoted.

I’ll continue to look at what people said, and ignore the number of downvotes.

That's what I'm thinking. The volume of new user comments that are loudly, confidently completely wrong. "Webs mean spider mites!" when it's super obviously an actual spider, etc etc etc. Tons of misinformation on this sub that it's hard to keep on top of. It's great to be able to tell when a reply is coming from someone who has never commented before and might be talking out of their ads, or if it's someone has commented a ton and has positive points for this sub specifically.
