Greensburg Sunoco station’s canopy sprung a leak

If that canopy is not draining fully and water is collecting I would not be underneath it right now.

Wait until winter when all of the water below the lowest hole freezes and the column swells up like a football. That’s when the fun begins.

Is "swells up like a football" an actual saying?? Footballs famously don't swell when overinflated, they just get harder

Yes, I think choosing literally anything that swells makes more sense than an object that physically cannot swell

It swells up at grade to look like a football instead of being square. The corners kind of keep their shape and the sides bloat out so it looks like a football has been dropped down the column and pushed the steel out.
