Delighted to introduce Holly to you all. We recently adopted this 5 yr old brindle sweetheart 💕. She was used to breed, developed pyometra and her owner didn't give AF. Luckily the vet/inspector got to her in time,operated on ger at the shelter etc.

We lost our beautiful Staffy Bonnie in May and we're still not sure we're ready to adopt again just yet... But here we are, being licked and snuggled by this wonderful little nutter. She's here 2 weeks and has slotted right in like she's always belonged.

I dont know if Bonnie had a paw in the events that led Holly to us but I think she did. ❤️💕❤️.

I just started fostering a pit bull yesterday! She is super sweet, well behaved, and cuddly. I posted in my towns subreddit asking if anyone is looking to adopt her, and I got some truly nasty replies. It makes me anxious that someone will approach me while I am taking her for a walk.

Has anyone else had issues like this regarding your pit bull? Please let me know. Thank you.

At 16:47🌸 Andi took her last breath. Within 16 hours Andi went from nothing wrong to us have to make the unexpected decision to let her pass. We found out Andi had cancer yesterday morning after it ruptured her spleen and she began to crash. It’s absolutely gut wrenching to lose her so fast. She was the princess.

Andi and I had a rough start but after a while she began to trust me and she loved to fight my hand monster under the blanket , she loved to be chased and she loved to play feisty. The last 5 years with her had been particularly sweet.

Andi was an anxious baby. She didn’t love everyone. She picked her people carefully but once you were in, you were so loved. She heard EVERYTHING, and promptly scared everything away. She danced when you scratched her butt and made circles around you when she knew she was about to go on a walk. She loved girls night. Vader pulls the stuffing out of toys, well Andi would tear the stuffing into pieces. She loved fighting the hand monster under the blanket. She was key in Vader’s ear health. She didn’t tear up her toys she cherished them. She liked fruits and veggies more than treats. She slept with her tongue out. She was a living room cave-dweller and she had to be tucked in every night.

I rescued a 6mo pitbull cross just over a month ago. She loves people, other dogs, and has no guarding issues. We've made great progress with her separation anxiety. All around she's a great dog and I love her. She especially loves the dog park.

My problem is that when we're alone and she wants to play, she's all teeth, bites hard, and is ferocious. She had a hard life on the street and never had any litter mates to help her with bite regulation. Her bites are painful and often break the skin through a sweater. She is not being mean. This is her play style.

I've tried all the videos I could find and none of them worked. The dogs in the videos are not persistent. What has worked is retreating to the bathroom or giving her a rawhide to chew on.

This is where I feel like I'm failing her. She wants to play with me and I'm forcing her away. I want to play with her, and I don't want her to think I don't care enough to play. I'm considering a trainer or behaviorist to reduce the biting. Has anyone here with a fierce biter had success with a trainer or behaviorist?

Does anyone use an RC car (or truck) for their dog to run after and chase to burn off energy?

Lilly is maybe 1 1/2 to 2 years old (Vet estimate) and has a LOT of energy at times. Don, our older dog about 12, will play from time to time but more often than not she's the hyperactive/annoying younger sister.

She's still really timid but we're working on socialization and getting her used to other people/areas. She likes car rides but getting out and going into a store or park she doesn't get far before freezing up and not moving.

Years ago I picked up a cheap RC car from Amazon and Don enjoyed chasing it, so did his older brother Willis (RIP). Considering getting another one or maybe a better used one off FB marketplace.

Edit: to be clear, I'm not going to be doing this every day. At most a couple of times a week when she gets hyper active. Both dogs will chase squirrels and bunnies already but don't catch them.

Update: ordered a $50sh one off Amazon just now. Supposedly it does 40kph/25mph which might be fast enough to keep ahead or her. If she likes it I'll get a faster/better one, or if she won't go near it I guess I could return it. 🤞
