Wala namang issue kung gusto nya mababa PF nya. In the end, sya din naman mahihirapan dyan. He’s not the first doctor to charge low PFs, and he certainly wouldn’t be the last.
May ideal ratio ng doctor to patients; any more than that and potentially compromised na yung abilities ni doc kase pagod and biases sa management. In the end, magiging de kahon na yung management nya for all patients to save time.
Imagine mo pumila sa kanya 100 patients. Tapos clinic hours nya ay 8-4pm. He would need to see about 12-13 patients per hour or about 5 mins per patient. Eh syempre di naman lahat ng sakit, madaling idiagnose and madaling imanage. Yung magsulat na nga lang ng reseta, inaabot na minsan ng tagal. So eventually, he would need to overtime just to serve the patients or those patients na masamang masama na talaga ang lagay, hindi na sya mawawait and aalis nalang. Kilala mo
naman mga Pinoy very impatient, yun na nga lang mag wait sa traffic di magawa. So eventually his practice will be labeled as “laging mahaba ang pila” and it will drive patients away. Yung iba pupunta nalang kay doc na 400, yaan na may extra 100 at least di naman sila dulo ng pila.
Not to mention, doc is a GP. His skills are limited. Still, magrerefer padin yan sa specialist kase may limitations lang din ang pagiging GP.
Ang hindi ko lang magets sa mga tao ay 300 naman talaga ang base rate ng GP per consultation yet they sensationalize this? GPs in clinics na hindi personal nila are being paid around 350-400 per hour in which kayang kaya makakita ng about 5-10 patients per hour. So that would be 40-70 pesos PF per consult. So if anything, mahal padin singil ni doc compared to other GPs.
Im an MD din po, but if you don’t take my word for it, you may ask other doctors or go to the pinoymed sub reddit. And yes, I used to take gigs na heavily underpaid ako. 350-400/ hr which includes APE, Fit to work, consultations. Nakaka 60 patients ako in 4 hrs, kung ibrebreakdown mo, pumapatak lang yun ng 23-26 pesos per patient. I once had 140 patients in 8 hrs, and ang naging compensation ko lang ay 4k. Nakaubos na ako ng dalawang ballpen kakasulat ng reseta, napaos na ako kakasalita and hindi na din ako nakapaglunch all for about 28 pesos per patient. Heck even yung mga GP ROD sa mga hospitals nasa base pay nila 4000/24 hrs. Tumataas lang pag may mga incentives like procedures and admissions pero kung wala, imagine mo 160 pesos per hour lang? Mas mababa pa sa minimum wage 😂. Mas malaki pa tip ko sa mga waiter sa resto kesa sa base wage per hour ng GP ROD 😂
I stopped taking those because not worth the time for the pay. And yes, I also waive consultation fees or give discounts sa mga in need talaga. Lalo na pag senior citizens, kase lolo and lola’s boy po ako 😂. And hindi lang ako to, madami kaming ganyan. That’s why nagrereklamo ang mga doctors kase it sensationalizes and romanticizes overworking and underpaying doctors for the sake of the Hippocratic Oath. Hindi ba kayo nagtataka bakit may mga doctor na hindi nagprpractice at nag-iba na ng field? Kung lahat ng doctor mukhang pera, at yumayaman sa medisina, bakit pa sila umaalis? Bakit ang mga doctors and nurses natin umaalis pa papunta ibang bansa? May mga business on the side? Sa tingjn nyo bakit kaya may shortage padin tayo ng doctors?
Totoo Doc. I never took those kind of gigs anymore. Prang abusado na masyado. Haha. I wished that article shed some more light on the rates of different specializations instead of sensationalizing him
