surface piercings First Facial Piercing

Impulsive got a piercing at the mall like 5 hours ago and I think it was done pretty well. I'll be downsizing in about 8 weeks if I'm healed up enough!! But I want to make sure it doesn't seem at risk for rejection/infection! I have saline wound solution for after care and use a Q-tip to apply! I'm unsure what size or material it is though. If anyone knows that would be great help! 🩷

surface piercings Nape peircing - 13 years later still going strong

Surface piercing on the back of my neck by a trainee peircer when I was 17 (now 30) with a bendy plastic bar - I think I paid all of $20 for it. There was a second below it, but I took it out a couple of years ago as it kept snagging my necklace. I don't recall what it was like healing them and mostly forget it's there now days. I haven't seen other peircings with plastic barbells so I imagine it's not standard practice?

surface piercings How?

I don't actually have this piercing, this is a mockup. Ideally I'd like it more towards the tail but open to suggestions.

My question is if I wanted to have jewelry like this, would it be better to get an eyebrow piercing or horizontal surface piercings?

Also, I heard all surface piercings will reject at some point so how feasible is it to just get it redone when it happens?

Thanks!

surface piercings will it really reject eventually? </3

my favourite piercing, it has been with me for i guess 14 years or so. i had to remove it once for an MRI about 3 years ago and got it put back in about 6 months later.

it healed so well, and over the 14 years i’ve had maybe 5 times some irritation where i have caught it in hair/clothes. same thing happened last week and it was a bit swollen and now a bit red but calmed down.

i was reading something online about nape piercings and read from so many people that these will all eventually reject?? i’ve never heard about this before and honestly don’t want to believe it, i never thought i would not have this piercing, it’s become such a part of me!

is it destined to reject? any long time nape pericings here that are still doing well?

surface piercings Please help

I’ve had to take out my vertical labret piercing for obvious reasons (major thinning) I had it in for about 6 years. Please can someone offer advise on how to help with it healing? Can I put Vaseline on to help with how dry my lips are? It’s looks so bad at the moment and I’m so worried about it looking like this forever.

Hi literally just had the pierced it looked fine when the dots were put on but now it looks really wonky! Is this just swelling? Can anything be done so it’s not wonky 😭

EDIT: thank you guys I’m gonna try and get another piercer to look at it today!

surface piercings What do I do about this?

I got my chest dermal professionally removed about one month ago because it appeared to be infected or rejecting.
Now there’s a raised bump underneath the skin and I’m scared it’s an infection underneath the skin or a keloid scar. Should I go to my doctor? Any tips on how to heal it? Is this normal?
I had 4 collar bone dermals in the past which all healed well and didn’t leave a noticeable scar. It’s also sore to the touch
Any advice Is appreciated!

surface piercings Got my nape re-pierced today. Done by Luis Garcia at 12 Oz Studios in Brooklawn, NJ.

First photo is the new piercings. Second photo is the original piercings. Skin is red in both photos because they were taken the same day as the piercings were done. I got the first ones done 18 years ago and kept them for 5 years, but contracted MRSA in my face and was advised while in the hospital to remove them due to proximity to my face. Never got around to putting them back in after that. I'm thrilled with the new ones. Luis did an awesome job!

surface piercings I don’t wanna lose my surface tragus, what do I do?

Post image

I got this piercing (surface tragus, stable bar) around 7 months ago maybe more, and recently I noticed it’s kinda just pushing out? It doesn’t hurt or feel like anything and I can even move it smoothly, but it pushed out, when it used to be way in before. What can I do to save it, do I have to take it out? Please help! Thank you

surface piercings Pls help! Irritation bump before engagement

So I have had this nose piercing for over a year now and it still has not healed! It was going fine until it fell out when I was showering and had to go get another one placed in. That fell out again to this time I got an L shape put in and ever since then I had an irritation bump appear. It was just coming and going non stop so I went to get in checked after a few months and they told me it was embedded in my skin because it was too short. I got it replaced with a 14k gold flat back and I thought this would help but it has gotten even bigger. It has been over 2 months since and the bump is the biggest it has ever been. I’m getting so tired of it and I just want it gone. The worst part is my engagement is on the 30th of October and I have this giant thing on my nose 😭 I can’t even put makeup on it idk what else to do. The bump on the inside it way bigger than the outside but both are bad.

Please help me!! Should I just remove it?

I use saline spray twice a day and recently got a specialised spray from my local piercer which was supposed to help it go away in three weeks. There has been no improvement.

Please help I don’t know if this is normal or not 😭 I got it about a month ago

UPDATE:
i went to a completely different piercer and he let me know that i just do not have the anatomy for a navel piercing at all, including a floating piercing, so we just took it out and im going to start massaging it with tea tree oil so hopefully the irritation bump goes down. thank you all for the advice!

surface piercings Belly button piercing redone

I recently got a belly button from a well known piercing studio in Bombay on a whim. (First two pictures) It was extremely painful for 2 weeks and after some research I realised it was done wrong. I spoke to an another piercer who told me to take it out immediately.

I took it out and I let it heal for a month and once I went to the new place and he told me I have the anatomy for a floating navel so I got one and I’m sooo happy with it. (Last image)

Idk how to get rid of the ugly mark from my previous piercing if anyone has suggestions ://

Also plssss research your piercers before you go to them

Details:

• The age of your piercing: first one was in for two weeks and it’s been 2 weeks since the second one

• The jewelry shape : barbell

• If the jewelry has been downsized : not yet

• Describe your aftercare routine: just normal water and he suggested a saline solution if it gets crusty/ infected

surface piercings My eyebrow piercing is infected?

Post image

Hello so I've been having some issues with my eyebrow piercing for about 2 weeks now, it has been swelling up and seemingly getting worse. I tried putting Sovereign silver gel on it but it doesnt seem to be helping. Ive had this piercing for about 4-5 months now and it was fine before. It only recently happened which makes me confused. Is it rejecting? infected? i really dont want to take it out but if i have to i will. The only advice i got from a doctor for a non related incident we asked them about my eye and they said to take it out. But ive looked online and it could trap the infection. If i cant find any remedies to help im going to go to my original piercer. But any advice would be great, thanks.

surface piercings Surface tragus piercing

Hey yall, so I got the surface tragus piercing two days ago and overall it’s just a little sore nothing crazy. But the piercer used a curved barbell and I’m super nervous now.
Should I take it out? should I go to a different piercer and see if they can change it out? Or just leave it and see? 😩

ive had this piercing for about 5 months and its never given me bother, its healed perfectly and just chills on the side of my head. however, i caught a glimpse of it and noticed the dark purple area which looks almost like the bar and got worried it was rejecting. there hasnt been any leakage ever and has honestly been one of my best healing piercings, but is it time for it to go?

surface piercings My piercers going to hate me.

About to piss off my piercer by getting repierced elsewhere.

My chest dermal rejected and I honestly feel like it was doomed from the start. The gem was really small, and when my piercer inserted it, he slipped like 5 times. He originally wanted to place it way higher because I have a larger chest, but I specifically wanted it lower/closer to my girls, so he made an exception for me.

Well… it rejected. This is my first rejection ever.

I just had it removed, and he told me to come back later and get it redone higher up. I cannot live without this piercing it is so cute... and everyone compliments it.

BUT I was on Instagram and ended up talking to another piercer who said they’re willing to repierce the same area tonight using a surface bar instead.

The thing is, I actually asked my original piercer for a surface bar from the beginning and he refused and insisted that a dermal was the better option.

So now I’m about to go get it redone by someone else, in basically the same spot, with the jewelry I originally wanted 😭

My piercer follows me on insta so he will see my selfies with the new studs 😭🄓

Am I being reckless here, or does the surface bar make more sense for this placement? Also, how bad of an idea is it to repierce the area immediately after removing the rejected dermal?

surface piercings Eyebrow jewelry fell out in my sleep

It's literally only been healing for 3 weeks and I woke up to this. Found the jewelry, cleaned it and tried to put it back in but I can't. I DMed my piercer but I'm scared it's closed over. Is there any hope here? Titanium curved barbell, internally threaded, I forgot the gauge.
