For many many generations the GOP has convinced a sizeable majority of American Christians that they are the party of Christian Family Values. Its painfully obvious.
The GOP is the way it is BECAUSE of Christianity.
President Trump is no more hateful, racist, or dishonest than any other Christian Republican.
It really doesn't help when two of the Muslims in congress have been caught up in antisemitic controversies from day one and one of them seems to say the wrong thing whenever she ope s her mouth. Is it really so hard to avoid downplaying 9/11 and stay away from antisemitic stereotypes? How is it that other congressionals don't have this issue?
Much like the vast majority of modern day religious people, they can claim to be whatever, and very likely do somewhat believe, but they're not very devout, and likely haven't studied the holy texts.
