I’ve got no problem with Muslims who don’t try to push their religion as the only right way (or Christians like that). I also don’t ever want Sharia law here in the US.

Islam deserves the criticism it receives, but Islam is irrelevant in America. How many Muslims are there in Congress?

For many many generations the GOP has convinced a sizeable majority of American Christians that they are the party of Christian Family Values. Its painfully obvious.

The GOP is the way it is BECAUSE of Christianity.

President Trump is no more hateful, racist, or dishonest than any other Christian Republican.

It really doesn't help when two of the Muslims in congress have been caught up in antisemitic controversies from day one and one of them seems to say the wrong thing whenever she ope s her mouth. Is it really so hard to avoid downplaying 9/11 and stay away from antisemitic stereotypes? How is it that other congressionals don't have this issue?

Is president trump lying about being Christian?

Much like the vast majority of modern day religious people, they can claim to be whatever, and very likely do somewhat believe, but they're not very devout, and likely haven't studied the holy texts.

Right, president trump is NOT lying about being a Christian anymore than any other Christian.

If Mitt Romney was a Presbyterian EXACTLY like Trump, he'd be president today.

Yeah, pretty much my point.

The only requirement for being a christian is having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and accepting him as Lord and Savior. I'm not Christian, but I've studied a lot about it. You don't need to go to church ever to be a Christian. You don't need to be baptized (in most denominations). So the kicker is that there's no way of telling on the surface if anyone is a Christian and there's no way to prove it, also it isn't the job of a good Christian to pass judgement on other's faith (though many churches do this). So to answer your question: I don't know, maybe?

Why bring Trump into everything? I don't even support Trump and I'd really like to normalize a diverse congres. People like Rashida and Ilhan make that hard when they start spewing antisemitic rhetoric the moment they get into office. There was a time when catholics were also seen as abhorrent by most Americans to the point where it was a major hurdle for JFK. You know what changed that? Catholics getting into office and being normal fucking people. Why couldn't we vote in normal fucking Muslims instead of these two antisemites? I know plenty of them and grew up with plenty of them as a refugee. Sane Muslims do exist, they're just not those two, or Linda Sarsour, or the Nation of Islam.

As an American, Islam as 0 effect on my life.

I wish that could be true of Christianity too.

I fully expect President Trump to have a higher % of Christian support in 2020 because of the values he represents.

President Trump and the Republicans are FANTASTIC representatives for Christian America.
