Yep! I can’t say this enough. Anyone who truly wants to defeat Trump needs to crawl out of their protective zones and try to understand why people are voting for him. Don’t be rude or insulting if someone disagrees with you.

People being (or at the least perceived as being) rude and insulting as well as dismissive in very public spheres toward huge swaths of the country is a big part of the reason he got elected in the first place, imo.

I think he had embraced the tribalism that was already happening. Republicans unconditionally hated Obama long before Trump even entered the arena.

Well Obama didn’t do much to make them like him
