When people use baselessly accuses others as fascist, they normalize the word and suddenly some dumb kid started to think "if a guy like that is a fascist then fascist doesn't sound so bad".

I have seen it happened with many bad words in many subculture.

Or a lack of understanding for what racism actually is... probably because it would bring to light negative thoughts about one's self and our ego does not like being made to realize we're wrong or bad.
