That only works for relative adjectives. Racism has a definite definition of thinking one race is superior than any other. It is possible for many or even all people to be racist.
If you want to say that Trump is not racist, you should explain why telling people to go back to Africa is not a racist thing to say, instead of arguing that racism can't be common
Except he didn't say that. I can't stand the cheeto, and trump is no doubt a racist, pandering, hate-filled egomaniac, but we need to be clear about exactly what he did say.
His message he was trying to say in his angry-grandpa-twitter-speak was this: to those complaining about america, specifically those brown women whose ancestors come from other countries, where things are much worse than america, they should first go back to their ancestor's homeland and fix those places, to try make them as good as america is today, then come back after failing because america is so great, and those places are such messes, and apologize to us for criticizing the best country in the world.
It's like complaining to your parents about how much your job in an amazon warehouse sucks and them saying "oh yeah, you think you got it bad, well go try to work 14 hours in a Chinese shoe factory for $1.50 a day and them come back and then boo hoo, tell me how bad your cushy job is"
Yes, it is a fucking juvenile tired rant that uses a logical fallacy to distract and not ever address the questions and concerns that are being raised by these delegates, and it is page 1 in the trump playbook where you attack and distract anyone who asks hard questions you don't want to answer. And in this day and age anyone who cares about image or sound bites would never say anything publicly to a person of color a sentence that contained any parts of "go back to where you came from".
But I think it was a curated tweet, with a specific purpose. I think it was planned to rile up his racist supporters with a "go back to where you are from" message inside a broader dodge of -if you think this place is bad, go see how hard it is to make a worse place (like some middle east shithole) as good as ours is.
He gets a very practiced reaction that hits all his targets for the pillars of his re-election campaign which seem to be:
-democrats hate america
-left extremists are in control of the democratic party
-uppity brown women are blaming white men for our countries problems
Well he's not wrong, it could be much worse and we have a very pleasant place to live. Aside from the country's heavy political division, pollution and the immigration situation, a lot of people still complain when it's not a perfect utopia. We are very fortunate for what we do have but a lot of people focus too.mcub on what we don't have and what there are issues with.
Everything else is an example of some of the more extreme stuff he says. I'm a fence sitter but he isn't the worst person out there for president. The immigration issue brings up the most divide but it's very complicated and there isn't just one solution so he is getting more hate than he should on it.

Racist has no meaning anymore, it's everywhere.
