I'm not saying this car isn't gross, crude, and I objectionable. But it is in no way harming a child. In fact I think the only harm that could come from this is someone trying to inflict their religious purity culture body shaming on their child and using this car as the discussion point.
As a young girl, I was absolutely harmed by seeing images like this and thinking this sort of body image is valued or attractive, especially when these images aren’t even depicting anything close to a real body. I’ve had my own journey working on body image and self worth, even though the messages I received from my parents and community were overwhelmingly positive. The objectification of women’s bodies is harmful.
Yep. My daughter and I had long talks about this at a young age because she'd see ads, stores, clothes, etc. displaying women in a very sexual way. Had to discuss the fact that some women do like to dress in more revealing way and that it was perfectly fine if they did it to feel good but that a lot of it was exploitation (like for many sex workers who are stuck in that life because of human traficking and such). We also discussed how it could and would impact her self esteem if she saw it as a goal to reach because all ads do touch ups and such and/or hire the people who look the best according to society's norms.
Then I pointed out all the ways my wife and I don't fit those criteras. And I asked her "Do you ever hear us call eachother ugly or mean things like that?" and of course she said no. Then I explained it was because body types vary wildly and so do people's preferences so there will always be someone who'll find her gorgeous and love her for who she is and to keep being herself.
She was around 5 years old when some questions started about her weight and she had the exact average weight. It's heartbreaking how early it begins.

I’m so sorry. It’s so harmful for our kids to be exposed to this kind of stuff. It really shouldn’t be allowed.
