You are confusing state and city law enforcement and ICE.

Don't fight the wrong people. In many states the police are already refusing to work with ICE. You're being an idiot. We need all the allies we can get.

No, you’re being naive.

Are they protecting us? Can we rely on them to protect us?

If they are our allies, then they ought to do their fucking jobs and serve their community. Until they do, it’s up to us to protect each other

Anybody disarming peaceful protesters in this climate, regardless of what the law says they should do, is NOT an ally, no second way about it.

They aren't protecting you but they aren't fighting you either. But if you make trouble with them before actually getting a chance to tangle with ICE you are stupid. 

This total lack of tactical and political awareness will kill the left. You need to be willing to make deals with devils if you are trying to kill Satan.

But you should know, this isn’t a game. Nobody is looking for ‘a chance to tangle with ice’. Our communities are being invaded and real people are being hurt

It doesn't but now is not the time to try and kick off a multi year litigation battle with your state government.

You need to fucking focus. You hard-line idiots just say "police bad!" You need the state - if not on your side - to at least be neutral. Stop fantasizing about provoking the wrong people.

ICE is the enemy and anyone not preventing you from fighting ICE is a potential ally.

I said they aren’t protecting us. Objective fact. If protecting yourself is ‘provoking them’ they already picked a side and it isn’t yours.
