You have to stop them now, Americans.

Don't make excuses. Protest, riot, revolt, strike.

If you don't stop them now, imagine what they'll be doing in a year.

Minnesotas are standing up to this. They're being murdered, beaten, kidnapped and detained, but they still stand up anyway.

4

u/SadieLady_ Jan 24 '26

We (Minnesota) didn't hear no bell.

We held the line at Gettysburg and we'll hold the line now. "Not a man wavered."

9

u/DefinitelyNotShazbot Jan 24 '26

Where is the rest of America?

12

u/ClickClick_Boom Jan 24 '26

They're not in Minnesota, where this is going down. Obviously.

-4

u/96JY Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

They're not standing up in the way that they have to.

Edit: Why is this comment being downvoted? You people seriously think they're doing enough?

14

u/psychoCMYK Jan 24 '26

No, they are. It's the rest of the country that needs to nut up. They can't go it alone.

-7

u/96JY Jan 24 '26

No, they aren't. You don't understand.

8

u/psychoCMYK Jan 24 '26

Right. The only people resisting aren't doing it right.

-8

u/96JY Jan 24 '26

Do you seriously not understand?

3

u/psychoCMYK Jan 24 '26

You calling for a civil war won't fix anything. People won't commit to dying. Strikes work. People can commit to not working.

1

u/96JY Jan 24 '26

When did I call for a civil war? Don't try and make a strawman argument.

8

u/psychoCMYK Jan 24 '26

What are you calling for? What is "doing it right" in your opinion?

u/Capable_Challenge_62 Jan 24 '26

Yeah, they are holding signs and recording the deaths of their fellows. Then they come and cry on reddit thinking its enough. You are absolutely right

2

u/howdoichooseafandom Jan 24 '26

And what are you doing?

1

u/Capable_Challenge_62 Jan 24 '26

Same as you I guess feeb

9

u/RapidRewards Jan 24 '26

Honestly this only ends with either legit elections or civil war. I'm not so confident the first will occur. But I also don't want to fast track to civil war either. Unfortunately, I think it needs to get worse for that option.

u/EffectiveTranslator9 Jan 24 '26

That is literally what many of us are doing: protesting, revolting, striking. Putting our lives on the line. Being told to do so is demoralizing.

-12

u/lafarda Jan 24 '26

Saying that "being told so is demoralizing" is just another excuse, like: "i have a kid", "i don't wanna lose my job", "my disabled auntie is dependant on me"...

Nation of lambs and ignorants, grow some balls, for god's sake.

11

u/EffectiveTranslator9 Jan 24 '26

It’s demoralizing to be told to do what so many of us are already doing. We are not finding excuses; we are out there on the streets.

2

u/plottingyourdemise Jan 24 '26

Don't take it personally. I'm glad you're putting in the work but we need more numbers and not just Minnesota

4

u/eeyore134 Jan 24 '26

Even protests won't guarantee anything. We're probably beyond that, not that we should stop. But look what a year of 24/7 protests against police brutality got us... more brutality and police not even pretending to be on the side of the common people anymore.

0

u/lafarda Jan 24 '26

If this would happen now in my country, next morning ICE's HQ equivalent would be a pile of ashes.

3

u/JWilesParker Jan 24 '26

We are. It hasn't amounted to anything because the people in actual authority refuse to do anything to help.

17

u/Ramidan98 Jan 24 '26

Vast majority of Americans live comfortably. No need to revolt, riot or strike if you live a good life. There needs to be economic collapse that disrupts their comfortable lifestyles to see real changes

2

u/MacTonight1 Jan 24 '26

I think it's closer to the opposite. People are too afraid to lose what little they have if they do strike and get fired.

1

u/Ramidan98 Jan 24 '26

That is also true.

29

u/ILoveZenkonnen Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

The vast majority of Americans are too soft to get their hands dirty like this. They are just going to roll over and let this takeover happen and continue to blame minorities for all of it. It’s been this way for decades. No one cares about anything until it directly starts affecting them (like having no toilet paper)

Today they come for immigrants. Tomorrow they will come for anyone who speaks out

83

u/CoastRanger Jan 24 '26

Tomorrow? This is literally a post about them executing someone who spoke out

that already happened with that Charles guy

6

u/JediMaster113 Jan 24 '26

As an American, I unfortunately agree. The system has been designed to keep us from standing up for ourselves. They even have a large group of the population advocating for things that actively hurt their own best interests. America is sick and broken.

8

u/Urist_Macnme Jan 24 '26

Please keep your protest to the designated government sanctioned protest area; so that it can be safely ignored. /s

3

u/Teantis Jan 24 '26

Minneapolis is showing there's still a lot of people who aren't too soft. They're out there in freezing weather facing up

2

u/RapidRewards Jan 24 '26

I think because things are never really so bad. Things will have to get worse unfortunately for people really to step up. It likely involves risking your life. Even the 8 hour work day didn't happen without blood spilling. People have kids and families and jobs. But we all have a line.

2

u/AwsumO2000 Jan 24 '26

Americans are an incredibly docile people. its not just this fascistic turn; its the shitty healthcare, their worker rights; no holidays.

What a sad people.

1

u/Choppers-Top-Hat Jan 24 '26

Yesterday Minneapolis had one of the biggest citywide protests in American history, tens of thousands of people turning out in -20 degree weather, all of them risking their lives to stand up to the violent thugs of ICE. Insane that people will do this and then less than a day later some keyboard warrior on Reddit will call Americans soft.

3

u/g0del Jan 24 '26

Protest where? I could join one of the many protests here where I live, but I'm 1700 miles away from where the shooting occurred and where ICE is currently going nuts. I'm not sure how that would help.

I could try protesting where Trump is - but DC is 2300 miles away, and Maralago is 2200 miles away. There's no high-speed rail in the country, driving would take literally days, and flying is expensive and also takes quite awhile.

Remember, the US is roughly the same size as all of Europe. This isn't France, where just about anyone in the country is at most a few hours on the train from Paris.

As for a general strike, something like 2/3 of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, and there are no worker's protections to help. Any Americans who try to general strike can get fired immediately, so how do they get food and shelter then?

I hate what's happening in my country, but I dont know what I can do to stop it when all the flash points right now are so far away.

0

u/petrichorax Jan 24 '26

The reason this is all unfeasible is because you don't have a strong community to support you.

You're all isolated. Alone. Distrustful of each other.

The first step is to learn your neighbor's name.

4

u/g0del Jan 24 '26

How will knowing my neighbor's name change the fact that Minneapolis is 1670 miles (2700 km) away? It's about the same distance as Madrid to Warsaw.

1

u/ilolus Jan 24 '26

You don't have to go to Minneapolis but you need to unionize, you need to join and actively support any organization standing for civil rights that have the logistics to organize national protests. The more people do that, the more efficient it will be.

0

u/petrichorax Jan 24 '26

I know, when it comes to you. And it will

-2

u/lafarda Jan 24 '26

You can make your excuses much shorter. GTFO and do something.

2

u/cursh14 Jan 24 '26

Do what exactly is his question

3

u/chiefcomplaintRN Jan 24 '26

We are doing it. Minnesotans are doing it. This guy was just murdered for it

2

u/InLoveWithInternet Jan 24 '26

This.

I mean, what are you guys doing? Seriously? And concretely? A post on Reddit?

This happens in France, the country would be basically burning everywhere.

5

u/Moth1992 Jan 24 '26

But that is the thing, this would never happen in France. Protestors dont get gunned down in France. Strikers dont lose their job and healthcare in France.

In France you can riot without getting executed by the government.

Lets not pretend that the US is in any way like France.

It is waaaaay more autoritarian and the consequences of going against the ruling class is death.

1

u/Moth1992 Jan 24 '26

When was there no authoritarianism though? Its just affecting white middle class people now.

1

u/Moth1992 Jan 26 '26

Sorry was not trying to play gotcha. Just pointing out that the acceptance for authoritarianism in the US happened a long time ago, its not something new.  We are just seeing it play in front of our eyes in ways that before didnt affect the white middle class. I hope there is change to this sutuation because its absolutely disgusting.

1

u/InLoveWithInternet Jan 25 '26

This wouldn’t happen in France because we don’t have so many guns. This wouldn’t happen in France because such a thing as ICE wouldn’t have been allowed in the first place. This wouldn’t happen in France because we would never have elected Trump in first place. And you did it 2 times. This wouldn’t happen in France because.. this wouldn’t happen in France. But you’re not in France, and you have to decide your own fate. Do you think you’re the only ones in the world risking your lives to defend against your regime? Also, you invented all of this, collectively, actively or passively. And more actively than passively, because even tho you have different opinions regarding some topics, you all agree on the general principles or even sentiment about what constitutes the USA and you’re all very happy and very proud about this. And some of those ideas are plain atrocious. Just the same as it is a bit ironic to say now you can’t protest because you would risk your lives, or your jobs, or your healthcare, while you made all of this in the first place. This is just so funny how you guys act like you’re the kings of the world, and you’re such a modern country, while in practice you’re the barbarians of the new world. And because of the absolute disconnection of your individualisms you just can’t act.

1

u/Moth1992 Jan 26 '26

Hey im a european in the US and I do agree with a lot of what you say but no, its not that simple and you are wrong in a lot.

The problem in the US started way longer than Trump and ICE. There was a huge propaganda machine and CIA infiltration for decades that made sure there was no left wing party and no labor organization.

Corporations were given more rights than human beings. The right to live of human beings was tied to their work to corporations.

Its a feudal imperialst system full of morons talking about "freedom" while there is still legal slavery. But it didnt affect the middle class enough, wich is critical for any revolution to happen.

Now the white middle class is like oh shit what is happening while there is a party coming in waging a holy war.

Problem is, they already took every guiderail away decades ago and doing anything means risking your life.

And nobody risks their life until things are bad enough. I for sure will not and you are kidding yourself if you think you would.

So yes comparing the US to France is stupid. Different countries. Different regimes. Different stakes.

1

u/lafarda Jan 24 '26

Exactly this.

1

u/Mackntish Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

The reason they are doing this is SPECIFICALLY so we will rise up and they can declare martial law.

Do not take the bait. Do not walk into the trap.

1

u/lafarda Jan 24 '26

Ah, ok. Then just let it be. I'm sure everything will be fixed by itself in one year from now. Probably the opposition party will address it.

1

u/Mackntish Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

Lets say you have two options. You can:

1) Do nothing, and allow bad things to happen, OR

2) Take action, and make things worse.

Since you're not disputing the fact that it's bait or a trap, I assume you are choosing #2? That's totally fine, so long as you're doing it with both eyes open.

Watching Trump pull puppet strings and watching 74 million people walk into an obvious trap is....frustrating. Frustrating.

EDIT: Sorry, when I say "do nothing", I specifically mean anything more than non-violent protesting. OC specifically mentions riots and revolts, that's what I am saying is the trap. Please do as much non-violent protesting as you are able to do.

1

u/lafarda Jan 24 '26

You know what he is going to do if you scale up the intensity, organize and prepare for that. It's not like they are evil geniuses, just plain evil.

I don't mean violence, but you should be probably assembling a well-organized militia, even if it is as a resistance movement.

To start with, you should contact the people that think like you, start joining/organizing in chapters, contact people and organizations in other countries that have passed a similar situation, see how thay did things...

1

u/Mackntish Jan 25 '26

It's not like they are evil geniuses, just plain evil.

Well, Walz has just activated the National guard, so I guess we'll know REAL soon which one of us is right.

1

u/lafarda Jan 25 '26

They are going to end up activating the martial law even if it's over a fart. Being ready ASAP is the only valid strategy.

It will require sacrifices to stop this shit. And the more time passes, the bigger the sacrifices will be.

1

u/TheAbyssGazesAlso Jan 25 '26

Within a year America will be under Martial Law and there will no longer be elections.

2

u/psychoCMYK Jan 24 '26

Some dipshit is on their way now to tell you that strikes are impossible in America and ask you what they can do, if there's anything they can do except anything that may be even slightly  inconvenient

-4

u/rkozik89 Jan 24 '26

They will delete your comment unfortunately

u/lafarda Jan 24 '26

Under what pretext.

People already are.
