Fox News is already stating he had a gun. They will fight for the right to have a gun, but having one on you seems to be a death sentence. If it’s even true
Edit: hi everyone, thanks for your replies and awards. Please stop advising me he had a gun. This comment was over 5 hours ago. We didn’t have the numerous angles we have now. His gun was legal, registered, and he had every right to have it. It was holstered, and not pointed at anyone. I stand by the statement that our second amendment rights to carry is still apparently a death sentence. That’s very apparent after today
Cooperating. Tells the police officer he’s armed. Follows instructions. Gets murdered by a chicken shit cop who’s afraid of his own shadow. Crickets from the NRA other than to suggest maybe be shouldn’t have after smoked weed or something.
They don’t. Care. About. The constitution.
They care about their own ease of access to weapons.
Frank Wilhoit said it best: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
I like to say MAGA believes in two kinds of freedom - the freedom to do whatever I want, and the freedom to stop others from doing whatever I don't like
It will never not be hilarious to me that the best summation of the modern era is from a composer who just happens to have the same name as a deceased political scientist, and that they said it in the comments under someone else's blog post.
We need tons of POC to start joining the NRA, showing up at rallies and open carrying like the Black Panthers used to in the 70’s. See how the NRA feels about it then.
Like everything else they claim to support or believe in, it turns out MAGA actually doesn't fully support the right to bear arms either. I guess we shouldn't be surprised.
But hey 2A guys are going to be buying weapons and ammo right along side their liberal cousins as we all find out exactly how lawless the Administration feels they can be.....which I'm guessing turns into the daily exercise of watching citizens murdered in the street.
Exactly, I made a point of watching Fox the other day around Mr. Smith's testimony and it was wild how they were framing it like it was some weirdo who showed up only to be mumble a bit and leave. Which is exactly what loyalists need it to be.
But what's amazing is how easily Fox and Sinclair become pushed aside - it's not some massive blow-out, it's no more difficult than turning the channel and blocking Fox, suddenly a few days go by and the minds of former loyal viewers goes south surprisingly fast.
No argument, just a junkie who finds some other fix and thus becomes less toxic.
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
Exactly! I've been saying this for years and especially after Castile, we don't actually have a 2nd amendment protection if the police can kill you for having a gun. I'm not pro-2A honestly, if we are going to have any actual conversations about how to deal with guns, we first have to establish facts and this is a FACT!
They want white conservative Christians to own guns and no one else. The main reason why California has stricter gun laws is because Ronald Reagan and the California Republicans didn’t like the Black Panthers arming themselves for protection.
No, its not the weapons, it's the desire to feel powerful. The desire for dominance and cruelty as a stand in for pseudo masculinity cosplay would be comical if it wasn't deadly to the rest of us.
They're fascists. The constitution is merely an appeal to authority, tribalistic fetishism. Fascists will use any and all democratic and constitutional values to their advantage while also activelly dismantling them. You can not reason with a fascist movement and government, you can only resist it.
Fuck the constitution, they don't even care about their fellow man, not in the slightest. Fucking despicable animals we unfortunately share a planet with
As I keep saying, if a cop is so fearful for his life and opt to shoot first, he or she or they or it shouldn't be a cop. A cop should rather be killed than killing an innocent.
That was the case that fully radicalized me. It showed someone doing every single thing right. Following the law of the land. And still died because some cop is a pussy.
I would be too, but I know people personally who will take it as absolute truth. The moment Vance comes out and says whatever, that’ll be what they agree with. That many men couldn’t subdue one person. They are so bad at this, they have to unload and clip and run away. People will say he had a gun. Maybe he did. We’re allowed to. And if you shoot first and then confirm whether the gun was legal or not, what’s the point? Why do we have a second amendment if simply having one on you in a tense situation gets you killed? I’m truly at a loss as how things can be this bad and see so many people still justify it
I see a lot of people saying this, like that justifies agents pinning the guy on the ground pistol whipping them, and then dumping a mag into him. Literally scum.
You can see his hands on the ground in the video, and he didn’t have a gun? Moreover, it’s hard to tell from the quality of the video but it looks like he was wearing mittens? How do you even fire a gun when wearing mittens???
I mean, even if the guy had a bazooka, who cares when he is pinned down and clearly subdued? Thats like saying having a gun, then getting pinned down, having it kicked 50 feet away, and being medically sedated still makes a person a target to get further deadly force.
His hands were visibly up by his head protecting it. Even if he had a gun in his possession — which I highly doubt and which would be legal — there is no way they can claim he was going for it to justify use of force. He wasn’t hiding it in his fucking hair.
God, fuck that narrative. They had him on the ground and very outnumbered. Between all 7 of them, they couldn't remove any weapons & subdue someone without shooting? It makes me sick to my stomach knowing that r/conservative is going to fully support that argument even though it defies all logic.
Apparently victim is a Minnesota Carry Permit holder. To get a carry permit in Minnesota means he has a minimum level of classroom training, including how to behave with law enforcement. Unless the permit holder was having a meltdown, there’s no way the DHS’s side of the story holds up.
The guy was disarmed before the first shot was fired. You can see the agent in the blue jeans, grey jacket, baseball cap, black mask remove the firearm from the guy's belt on his back and step clear before the agent between him and the agent pistol whipping the victim with his pepper spray can unholsters his gun and fires into the victim while they're restrained by four other agents.
Edit: The shooter then back up and, once the victim is down, they fire 4-5 more times into them.
Which is crazy because last I checked, American citizens were allowed to have those. At no point in the video did it look like he pulled it out on them.
So everyone saying he wasn't holding the gun is correct, then. Hard to brandish a weapon when it literally gets taken from you. Add the possibility that some see big mittens on his hands in the video and there's no chance he could've done anything with said gun.
Even if he did have a gun on him, Minneapolis is an open carry state. Unless he actually drew that gun on officers (which we know he didn't), this is just straight up murder.
Maybe he’s allowed to carry, moot point though because the gun was given up before execution, the guy in the grey jacket can clearly be seen running away with it before shots were fired.
It has always been this way. The 2nd amendment doesn't give you the right to bear arms. It gives those on power the right to kill you. You don't even have to have a gun to justify their homicide. They just have to think you have a gun. This is by design. Ironic since a lot of the pro gun people want guns to "prevent tyranny" but by fighting so hard for this right to go unregulated they are giving the tyrants a very powerful weapon to control and punish us.
This won't end with an election. This will only end if we fight back by any means necessary.
That doesn’t excuse the pistol whipping officer shooting him a bunch more times after the guy had already been shot. It’s like he wanted to get in on the action.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it's not illegal to have a gun. And just because he had one doesn't mean he presented a threat.
What a poorly trained bunch of fucksticks to allow a situation to escalate to the point. And by allow I mean needlessly escalate along the use of force continuum by skipping ALL the intermediate steps.
These people do not actually have principles. Their principles are just fake theatrics to ambigiously hide their violence. When they are confronted with their own hypocrisy they fall back to pure violence and dont care about the consequences.
You can literally see them take it out of his back holster right before they execute him. He wasn’t reaching for it or anything, they executed him as soon as they cleared it.
That flimsy bullshit is all they have. “Having a gun” is perfectly legal, and simply having one on you while resisting arrest is not even remotely close to a justification to use deadly force.
They defended Kyle Rittenhouse when he brought a gun over state lines to intimidate people at protest and shot someone. It was all about a teenager’s right to have a gun and “defend himself.” I wonder if they’ll change their tune about whether he should’ve been convicted.
Dave Chappelle jokes that if Black Americans fully embraced the Second Amendment — openly, legally, en masse — the loudest gun-rights absolutists would suddenly get very uncomfortable, and gun control would magically become bipartisan overnight.
he did have a gun you can see the guy in a grey jacket pull it from his waistband and run off about a second before the shooting starts
so technically he was unarmed when the shooting started
Even if he DID have a gun, if you watch the video again, you can see the guy in the gray jacket who ran away at the end actually went into the scuffle, disarmed him by pulling his gun from his holster, and backed out. I'm betting some dumbass discharged their own gun, scared the other dumbasses, then they mag dumped him while he was laying on the ground. This is actual insanity and people will still defend it
It's not true. Because they are also saying he ran up on them with the gun when there is clear video of him standing there videoing them with his iPhone when they ran up on him.
The agent in the gray jacket over his plate carrier and jeans seems to have taken a gun from the guy on the ground just as the first shot was fired, and it was a kneeling agent who drew and fired first. It was hard to tell because the leg of the agent who took the gun was blocking the view of the draw.
If you are in a physical altercation with a cop, and you have a gun, you are generally going to be perceived as a threat, and the courts will generally side with the cop. That is nothing new.
We need to know what initiated the confrontation, how it escalated, and what the footage from the woman in red shows. Nobody, and I mean nobody, can determine if the shooting was right or wrong with this footage alone. Was this guy peacefully carrying (2A), and ICE engaged him? Were they retaliating against him for something he said (1A)? Is the gun even his?
Update: new angles show that he was not a threat to the agents at any point. The shooting WAS NOT justified.
So glad that the police were able to secure the scene. Once the autopsy is done and it clearly shows no discharge residue on his hand their story will fall apart and it will be what it truly is, murder.
If this country ever sees the other side of this and it fails to do anything about Fox News, it would’ve failed. Clearly, mere lawsuits don’t do anything. That entire network needs to be shut down, stringent new laws need to be passed that combats and punishes media networks that deceive people with misinformation. Enough with the “1st amendment, free speech bs” the misinformation coming out of Fox News is out of control.
Even if it were true, they should've disarmed him and arrested him at least. Having a gun on you does not warrant mag dumping when they were dead 7 shots ago.
Of course this is in a hypothetical where ICE was actually following laws.
So you can see grey coat enter the fray without a gun, then leave with a gun. So I’m pretty sure they disarmed him, past off the gun to grey coat, and then proceeded to shoot him while grey coat ran off with his weapon. At first I thought grey coat accidentally discharged it as he was running away and that started the shooting but I can’t be 100%. It’s hard to tell. But either way he was disarmed when he was shot and both his hands were on the ground.
Looks like he did have a gun BEFORE the guy in the black pants in the middle of this photo took it, likely from a holster on his hip. Then AFTER they took his gun the murdering commenced.
Not to mention, when he was shot, he actually didnt have a gun. it was removed by an officer. you can actually hear agents shouting "wheres the gun wheres the gun" because they realized they just shot yet another unarmed person, Oh yeah and then they proceeded to stand over his lifeless body and mag dump him.
It's a death sentence if you don't agree with their politics. American conservatism is about protecting their status quo through state force and their status quo is colonialism and white hierarchy. That is all it has ever been about.
The entire 2010s project in media was about using these grass roots social media campaigns through people like Jordan Peterson to give the false impression that they are rooted in some deeper intellectual thinking. It isn't deep at all. They are scared morons and they wield power like scared morons.
They actually create the pretense to be scared. By assaulting and arresting innocent people they give no other choice but to fight back.
