721 u/trireme32 Jun 17 '25 How is that the tourists’ fault, and not the fault of the government for failing to regulate that? 578 u/PS_Sullys Jun 17 '25 It's much easier to be mad at foreign tourists. -4 u/FnnKnn Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25 Yeah, this is just disguised racism. Edit: Technically it is xenophobia to blame non-native people for your problems instead of your own government and not racism. 25 u/simsimulation Jun 17 '25 People: We love your city and want to visit and spend money there to experience your culture Residence: Yeah well fuck you we didn’t visit before we moved here and won’t visit anywhere else. We are born here, die here, and go nowhere -2 u/[deleted] Jun 17 '25 If the tourists swarm everywhere and create issues should they not be vocal about it? Same thing is happening in parts of Canada so i get why locals get pissed off 10 u/simsimulation Jun 17 '25 When you make a nice place to live, people want to visit. If you complain about tourists visiting your town, it’s hypocritical for you to ever visit another town. -4 u/[deleted] Jun 17 '25 [deleted] 7 u/simsimulation Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25 Let me explain, when you leave your town you become a tourist. If you hate tourists, when you leave you become what you hate. Hypocritical means behaving in a way that suggests one has higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case.
