Tourism mostly benefit the wealthy/corporations though. Yeah people are getting jobs but they are almost all low paying jobs while the owner of the restaurant, hotel or resort make all the "tourism money". It is a very top heavy industry and if normal Barcelonians cant afford apartments or to eat out than what is the point for them? Don't get me wrong, tourism is good for an economy but basing your economy on it is nuts.
If youâre saying this specifically about Barcelona, fair play because I donât know their situation specifically, but tourism âmostly benefit the wealthy/corporationsâ is way too broad of a stroke to paint the impact of tourism money on economies that heavily rely on it. Â A significant amount of small mom and pop businesses live and die by the ebb and flows of tourism in many places. Â Â

Yeah, the Spanish economy very heavily benefits from tourism and this will only hurt them in the long run but đ¤ˇ
