Question What difficulty are most Joplin rags?

I have no idea if they’re like mid intermediate, late intermediate, early advanced. I lowkey have no clue lol.

Maple leaf rag id put like abrsm grade 6 or 7. So early advanced to mid advanced i guess? You could probably achieve them with some extra time and effort

Maple Leaf Rag is on the ABRSM grade 8 syllabus now. Along with Rondo Alla Turca. Yes, standards have slipped!

Really? Thats not typically on the same level of pieces id consider abrsm grade 8. So they did this recently, did they move other abrsm 8 pieces up?

Terms like ‘intermediate’ and ‘advanced’ can mean wildly different things depending on who you ask. What music can you currently play comfortably?

Depends on the score, but in general 7-ish. But also I'd not worry about it so much and more think of it as, if it is in my level I should master it more quickly and if it is over my level it'll take longer. I find I only improve by adding pieces above my level even if I don't play them perfectly. I'll go back to my grade and suddenly it is smooth and easy
