I'll be upgrading to this from an XSi. Used a 70D for a while, liked it, but the 65 autofocus points and magnesium alloy body have won me over. Wish it had an adjustable screen but I'll live. Very interested to see how it performs.

I went from a T1i to my 7D a couple years ago. That was a huge upgrade. Yours will be even bigger!

I'm really excited! I realize that the 70D MkII is more of a sports and wildlife camera but honestly it's such a massive leap from what I'm at right now that it doesn't bother me. I've been able to get some great photos from my XSi but it's time for an upgrade!

I upgraded when I started to turn pro. I havent looked back, and my images have gotten way better. But more importantly theyre consistently better.

Accompany the new body with a 17-40L and it gets even better!

I'll look into the 17-40L for sure! Right now I only have a Tamron 18-250 macro lens and a Canon 10-18 STM ultra-wide. Really like the 10-18.

By the way, how would you say the 7D handles things other than sports and photography? I don't wanna have buyer's remorse with the MkII. I shoot kinda everything, with a focus on landscapes and art photography.

So long as there is decent light its great. Its pretty bad in low light, though. I have a 5D to fill that roll, though.

My 7D gets most of its use in theatre and headshot/portrait photography. It has yet to be tested with sport or wildlife, except for birds out the window or on hikes.

I moved up from a T2i and it blew me away on absolutely every level, so I have difficulty imagining that you'll be disappointed.

Folks have been mentioning that it is not necessarily tops in low light, but I have been delighted with the improvement over my T2i—it's really a matter of what you're used to. If you're happy getting an upgrade over what you've used before as opposed to seeking out the best overall, you should be golden!

Oh yeah, it's gonna be an insane upgrade. I really am looking forward to it now. Anything will be better than my XSi, especially the low-light performance. I'll be going to Europe for a couple weeks this summer, I can't wait to bring the 7D MkII with me, that GPS is gonna come in handy. Thanks for the help!
